It seems to be a bit slower than 2.2.1 on my iPhone 3G. I did a clean restore to 3.0 but it still feels slightly slower. It is certainly nothing like the difference between 1.1.4 and 2.0 was when everyone upgraded last summer (2.0 was unbelievably slow and buggy). I will say that my battery seems to drain faster than it did on 2.2.1. However, I think these two problems are relatively minor and well worth the new features. I am also confident that Apple will tweak the speed of firmware 3 with future updates.
The one other thing I will add is that the GM build of 3.0 seems to be very stable. I am pleasantly surprised after the disaster that was the initial release of 2.0.

Or if you have 3.0 jailbroken you can kill tasks through Mobile Terminal with the "killall" command. the only downside is that not all apps are called the same as they show in spring board such as the phone it's called "MobilePhone" !

Apple wants clones instead of customers.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

It didn't work for me. I'm running the 3.0 release and it just turned off my phone. The screen flashed all white like a screen shot then shut off immediately.
