The $99 iPhone Walks Among Us

Click the image to open in full size.

For quite a while folks have rumored and wept for a $99 iPhone, and Apple's announcement Monday at WWDC has fulfilled that wish. Alongside the $199 16GB iPhone 3GS and the $299 32GB iPhone 3GS, the traditional iPhone 3G in 8GB will be selling for $99 with a new 2 year contract on AT&T. And that price is effective immediately - go buy one, or wait til the 19th and buy a 3GS.

Read this...this is straight from apple and sucks for those of us that bought 3G phones when they came out

"For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB)."

I was set on buying it up until I saw that...if it's true then I guess I won't be getting it.

What really sucks is if you upgrade now, you can't upgrade next summer with the iPhone 4. 2Gers, I wouldn't upgrade if I were you.

And if you upgrade next year, you won't be able to upgrade the year after that with the iPhone 5!

Technology moves fast. Whatever you buy now WILL be obsolete in a year (or less). Stop caring and just buy now if it works for you.

This really breaks my hoohahs after spending $199 twice for my upgrade and my wifes then another $399 because I dropped my phone and it broke into a good 30 pieces. Now it's only $99, it's like a disposable phone now.
