Ok, i am wondering if the 32GB model is really something I need. I got the original iPhone model and my carrier (O2 in the UK) has been pestering me since Jan to upgrade. I was however waiting for the new iphone this summer. A friend of mine sold me the 16GB 3G model for £200 (around $300) and i was happy to take it and sell my 1st G 8GB model on ebay for like £220. That was a good deal. Anyhow, now I am wondering if its worth upgrading just for the better camera and higher battery life..and the 32GB model. I assume we will all get the video recordingw ith teh 3.0 FW update anyway. I am currently using about 3GB for apps right now,and dont have THAT many videos, so i could live with another 16GB mode. But if the 3GS videos take a lot of space, then an upgrade to the 32 GB might be appropriate. What do you guys think? Anyone recorded videos on the 3.0 firmware yet?
By the way, O2-UK charges following for existing and new customers:
If you are going for the cheapest monthly plan for £29.38(75 outgoing mins, 125 sms, unlimited data) 8GB: £96.89; 16GB: £184.98; 32GB: £274.23
Monthly Plan for £34.26 (600 outgoing mins, 500 sms, unlimited data) 8GB: £96.89; 16GB: £184.98; 32GB: £274.23
Monthly Plan for £44.05 (1200 outgoing mins, 500 sms, unlimited data) 8GB: Free; 16GB: £87.11; 32GB: £175.19
Oh, does this 3GS have more buil-in memory? Or do i need to continue using the free memory app?

Yeah you can get the new iPhone and put it on your new line that you would open up and switch it over to your original line whenever you want. the bad thing about that is that you're paying $9.99 for an additional line for the next 2 years that you wont be using. I guess you can give this number out to other places and have the calls be automatically forwarded to your own line?
So in layman's terms, if you open a new line for $9.99 and get the iPhone for $199, you dont even need to put that phone on that new line. You can just steal the eligible upgrade that the line automatically comes with when you sign up and use it for your own number.-[r]
if you can, please [thank] me if i helped you or you liked what i said! :]

I don't like that I will be paying more then I thought and the fact that right now it doesn't seem like they changed much but after watching the video Guided Tour of the 3GS, it has got to have way more ram and a way faster processor. Then there is the Fastest, Most Powerful iPhone Yet they keep saying.
I am kinda more excited after watching this.

Didn't we all just pay alot of money for the 3g. There is no consideration of that. For as litlle as what is upgraded, it's just not worth the price.

S is for suck me...
Apple is a bunch of thieves, I can't believe they have the balls to charge people that much money for a cell phone with an upgrade? What honestly seperates new customers from customers with upgrades anyway? Its the same contract period and I know major corporations like AT&T lose money on new customers for the most part until they have tenure, its not until a few years in you actually start making profit off a person, so you're making a douchebag business decision and I'm using my upgrade I've been saving for something on the Android platform instead, I should have to go through the inconvenience of shutting my line off and then making a new one just because you all want to get 15 million dollars in bonus's instead of 10.
I still love the company, I still love what you're all about, and I still hate Microsoft, but you really are a bunch of criminals and your new iPods are made poorly, and I'm sure this almost $700 investment still probably can get hairline cracks without even being mistreated. I hope you all get diahrea, for a really long time.

the 3gs is worth the money for some and not for most. its worth money if you wanna run better more powerful programs (they are coming). its worth the money if you need 32 gigs of harddrive (i know i need more then that. if you don't need power speed and hard drive space. stick with your 3g its still a very good iphone.

so if my contract is up, i dont have to pay the upgrade correct? I just transfered my account to my parents family plan as an additional line. Will i be elegible for the new one without the upgrade fees?

So are we all claiming that the upgrade price is the same as new customer price? I am kind of confused. And the Milano dude with girl eyes in that iPhone 3GS video makes me so angry with his happiness and smiling.

Yeah, its so stupid.
It will hurt sales i believe, i mean i still think they will sell alot because all the rich people out their, but people who are stuck with the 3g contract should be pissed; like me. thing is about everything i want is in the 3.0 software. I hope* Apple & ATT get hurt bad.
