i'm on the apple site purchasing it, and it shows these prices, not the $599 (16gig) or $699 (32gig)

it shows $399 (16) and $499 (32) with a two year contract renewal

That means if u sign a new two year contract u get the $199, $299 pricing. If u just upgrade to a new phone and keep your current contract its the more expensive prices.

well they got the compass, the memory size, the price, video and video editing, and they even got the name of it (3GS) but some were saying it would be called iPhone video.

i'll be sticking with my 3G and just get Cycorder once I get to 3.0. The 3G basically has a compass, just get MobileX GPS from the App Store and it uses its GPS for the compass.

maybe they'll announce a new iPod touch, because they said at the beginning of their keynote:

So for people on AT&T with iPhone 3g:
iPhone 3GS 16 GB is $399 with reup to 2 years.
iPhone 3GS 32 GB is $499 with reup to 2 years.

The cheaper pricing $199 & 299 is only for NEW customers to AT&T (or people done with their 2 year contract)

I am very dissapointment with all this new features come on all this stuff should of been out since the 3g iphone came out. I am not going to go and pay 699.99 for a 32g iphone its not worth it.

Sometimes the comments here are quite hilarious. What other phone maker out there is going to drastically make cosmetic changes to their flagship device every single year? Also to those complaining about the no price break for existing 3g owners, why should their be one? What good is a 2 year contract if everyone is allowed to break it every year? What other phone service provider allows this? Regardless the 3GS is hardly an upgrade for us 3g users anyways. /rant.

The F***ers know they won't gain anything by letting 3G owners upgrade. They know that 90% of people upgrading will be 1st Gen iPhone owners since theyre contract will be done. Then they can secure the users for 2 more years. They really don't give a S*** about customers and loyalty. Well guess what you're still losing tons money by not selling all those iPhones for $200 and not selling refurb versions of the 3G.
