Discontinued not disappeared

Cell Phones and cell phone plans - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular
As with most things discontinued, they are going to try to move out their current inventory before recycling the parts.
149 is for a new one
129 is for refurbed but are "temporarily not available"Last edited by brahby; 06-10-2009 at 05:37 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

The only thing I can see that you are missing is that the contract means nothing if you intend to break it. Breaking the contract and paying an early term fee with a month will still save a potential buyer 75 bucks from buying yours. So they will have a contract free phone for 424 that any competant person can unlock on their own and have on t-mobile or whatever else.
Maybe I am missing something, but how is yours going to work on any network if it is coming sealed from Apple?Last edited by brahby; 06-10-2009 at 07:02 PM.

I have no idea what I just read lol
But if you have the option to return yours and upgrade to the 3gs at the 299 price I would jump on it. I missed out by 5 days

iPhone 3G cases are compatible to 3GS?
I'm concerning about this issue as I'm getting a case for my iPhone 3GS soon..can anybody ensure they are the same?
And is there any website selling iPhone 3G cases talking about this issue?

Depends, if you have are out of contract...you get the new customer price. If you are in contract and own an iphone you should get it at the 399/499 price i THINK. It has been my understanding so far that the 399/499 is offered to existing iphone owners (regardless of model/gen) who are still in a 2 year contract. If I were you I would go to Apples site and click to buy one and see what it tells you.

I checked my account on At&t and checked Apple to do the upgrade. Both sites said it would be $199 for 16gb 3gs and $299 for the 32gb 3gs.
Would have to pay a one time $35 upgrade fee, however, and the original 200 free text message plan that was originally included in 2g phones, now costs an additional $5 monthly.

If anyone is still wondering about if you get a discount if you already have the iPhone 3G, you actually DO get a reduced discount. Mine is $500 for the 32gb 3GS and I am getting $6.60 off the monthly plan and $5 of the data plan for some reason!
and You get to CHOOSE if you want to opt out of MMS or not! Soo If my assumption is correct...all iPhone 3GS will ALREADY have MMS activated.

I can't wait to get the new iPhone 3Gs, even though its only a moderate update from the regular 3G. It's still worth it to upgrade 4 me since i use it a lot and it feels cool to have the latest and greatest. I'm glad the battery will last longer, i'll make good use of the better camera and video taking/editing. It is nice that u can upload vids straight to utube, or email. But i find it unbelievable MMS isnt ready on launch, what a joke i mean crappy free phones can do it, although u can still do it through email and for free. I wonder if the MMS costs more per month or does it tie into data usage or my sms plan? Also its nice that the 3Gs will be 2 times faster overall, with more RAM which means no crashing bs and improved gaming experience will b nice, ill b sure to buy asphalt 5! Another thing that i queation is tethering, when the F*** will that b ready and shouldn't that b free? I mean i hear its an extra 40 a month, but if anything it should be a one time fee or something cause u already pay to have unlimited data, and would just b transfering it to ur computer. Maybe they think u would use alot more data that way? its not like ud use it too often. Another thing; when will AT&T be ready for the 3.5 or 3.75 G or w/e faster data network? That will also be great but when would it b as widespread as 3G is now? I have the 3G 16gb now and i got it 7/11 or day 1, and i heard that if u got the 3g then ur elligable for the full discount after only 1 year, which would be 7/12 or only 3 weeks after the initial release. I'm really glad if this is true since it should b that way, and i may just take that option, but im not sure because its tempting to get it on release. In the time it would take to wait 3 weeks i could make more than enough money at my summer job to pay off the $200 extra. I think thry may even allow me to use my mom's upgrade ability for tbe discount, or what about extending the contract to 3 years? Whatever happens i just want the same as everyone else, to negate the cost of the new iPhone by selling the regular 3G. I think AT&T should offer a trade in plan too, so we could instanly get back money for the 3G. I hope they do it and for at least $200 as i found a site which will buy if for like $270 in good condition.
I also saw that AT&T is selling refurbished 3G iPhones, but how would they get those any other way than doing a trade in program or from the not as many which would have been from people having technical diffs. Also this is random and i wrong section but i just noticed recently after getting itunes 8.2 that it has a new feature called the DJ. It sounds cool cause u can create custom playlists easily and change the order and everything and on top of tha u can control it from the apple remote app for iPhone and people can send requests to u from that app for another song or even vote on a song. Isn't that tight?Last edited by huganazionehump; 06-13-2009 at 01:22 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

There might be a way around some of this for you guys out there.. I have a 16GB 3G and I bought last October.. I have a friend that has an AT&T contract thats not in the 2 year agreement. He has agreed to take my 16GB iPhone and allow me to purchase a new 3G S on his account.. I will get my new phone and switch the sim cards I did this with another friend I wanted his 16GB iphone I had an 8 I gave him the money and we switched phones..
I called AT&T and they said they cant tell what model 3G phone we have just that we have one. Ive been using the switched 16GB iphone for 6 months now without any problems.. So my friend gets a 16GB 3G and I get a 3G S granted he has a 2 year agreement on my phone and he knows that but Im giving him my 16GB for free.. Its worth it to me.. Allowing me to get a new 3G S for the $299Last edited by Limegrntaln; 06-13-2009 at 10:32 AM.

With the drop to $99 for the 8gb 3G and being way past due for a phone upgrade to my ATT account I was about to order the 3G when I found that through Bing! I could get 35% off. Picked up a 16gb 3Gs for $129.35, reduced my plan as I was accumulating too many roll over minutes and won't see an increase in my monthly bill. Sweet!

I read all 26 pages, so be kind. My thought is to upgrade my son's "eligible" Sony phone to a 32GB 3GS ($299), switch the sim cards, take the 3GS and give him my 16GB 3G phone (eligible Dec 2009 or $499.) Any problems here?
Note: He's been using my old 2G iPhone, but the screen is failing.Last edited by frede; 06-13-2009 at 07:46 PM.
