my thing is...how come the voice control is not in the 3.0 software? What makes the 3gs hardware so special that it's on the 3gs and not 3g? I can see with the video, but as other people have posted, cycorder will fix that...

thanks for clarifying my question thetoothfairy.
if bought thru apple, $400.
and sell my 3g then is sort of gain situation.
since i get to sell it and i dont really lose 400
as for jailbreak true, it would take some time due to the
fact is a different slight firwmare than usual.
more complex i think. but it is possible. just give it time.

thanks for clarifying that thetoothfairy.
i guess is worth it, if i pay 400 thru apple
and sell my 3g phone...is not much of a loss contrast
to upgrading thru att..but here is the thing
how sure i am ill get 3gs thru apple. they simply can send me a same one...mmmmm...
as for jailbreak, it will take time but its not impossible.

Has anyone else gone to apples website to pre-order the 3gs and gotten an error message when going through the process of putting in your account info?

One never knows... first of all the dev's have to get their hands on it.... then it depends on the programming Apple has used on it.... this is a question that no one can answer at this time....
Yes I have read that others are having problems as well... read this hole thread and you will see and also read this one..
[ame=http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=713693]Apple Announces iPhone 3G S, Launching June 19th - Mac Forums[/ame]
And do what it says try again later.... their server is probably being bomb barded with orders...Last edited by thetoothfairy; 06-09-2009 at 12:00 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

so does that mean for a current 3G user, we can upgrade to the 3GS for $500 without extending our contract another 2 years?

"Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB)." so this is just thru at&t...? or also apple? (info found on appl.com)
cause when i get to click on existing customer, it says "Replace a phone on my account with an iPhone. " idk i new to this...what you guys think?
although important apple does say 400 for 16gb

I don't know why people are complaining about having to pay full price if they have a 3G. You DO know you can always go sell your 3G for $300-350 then add another $250 for a new 3GS right? Basically the same as last year when you could trade up your newly purchased 2G for a 3G.
I'm eligible for the $199/299 prices since I waited and didn't ugprade to 3G this February. Yay for patience.

For those of you getting errors when trying to order the iphone 3gs if you have a family text plan remove it. Then order the phone and then add the plan back again. It worked for me i saw it somewhere in the apple forums
