I have an iphone 2g that I need to unlock, and I used quickpwn in windows as usual and everything was ok, but when I inserted a non-AT&T chip, the phone suddenly blocks and say "you've inserted a different SIM, please connect to itunes" and itunes only says that the SIM is not supported, as if the phone wasn't unlocked
I think the phone has been synced previously with itunes 8.2
is the new itunes the reason I can't insert a different sim?
what should I do? Anyone with the same problem?

Not sure about the 2G but with the 3G you should have the SIM in when you use quickpwn.

yeah with the 2G when you unlock it, you have to have the simcard you want to unlock it to in the phone during the process. I had to learn that the hard way after five times hahaa

iPhone OS 3.0 coming the 9th according to iTunes 8.2
This is kinda to do with the iPhone 3.0 release date. I have a feeling it will be released the 9th Of June because after i updated iTunes to 8.2, whenever i do check for update, it says no software found. But usually the date moves to like 1-2 weeks later when it will check again for new software but it stays on the 9th of June, day after WWDC. Could this be the release date?

Don't do it!
Please be patient young padawans
Don't upgrade until an official post by site management or the devteam; that's just my humbled opinion.

I am one that updated to 8.2 and now when I connect my iphone to my computer itunes comes up and will not sync with programs that I downloaded from the net. Before I could sync and that would copy my files over to my iphone. Now it says it can't sync these because I didn't buy from itunes store. So I tried uninstalling 8.2 and then re-installed 8.1 still have same problem. I'm running on a PC. What can I do?

well aparantly on a mac, only if you have previously downloaded itunes 8.1.1 and saved it to your hd.
since apple apparently has removed ALL instances of 8.1 from the net for mac.
i can find it for pc everywhere. but not for mac.
anyone wanna hook me up with itunes8.1.dmg???
EDIT:
thanks stealthbravo.
if apple is gonna remove all the links then i am gonna repost it.
THIS IS MAC ITUNES 8.1 DMG
http://rapidshare.com/files/24133570...es811.dmg.html
only ten downloads until i get off work and setup a free account.
anyone know of a better hosting site?Last edited by tattoojack; 06-05-2009 at 10:49 PM.

I tend to use Microsoft Skydrive to share files the limit was 5Gb but I think they've just upped it to 25Gb. You can make files private, public or chose who to share them with.
I know you probably hate MS but it is an option. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

if you don't mind paying to use rapidshare, it ROCKS, especially if you use iGetter on a Mac...
I typically download at around 1.3MB's a second... that entire download just took me about 20-30 seconds roughly...
it is kinda pricey though, about $70 for a year but, if you download often, it pays for itself...
rapidshare is what i used to download all my dexter, how i met your mother, big bang theory episodes while i was deployed to iraq!!!

So if I just install iTunes 8.1 I can jailbreak again?
But I have another question
Recently I had to restore
And while trying to rejailbreak quickpwn crashed not once but 3 times during the process
But this was before I had updated to iTunes 8.2

Let me get this straight. Even if I have a jailbroken iphone, it's still not safe to update to 8.2? I'd expect this sidetrack to be fixed by now...
Usually the Dev team is pretty fast on these kind of fixes, no?
SO- even though I have a jailbroken phone, apps I DL from the net still won't get added!?
Geeze! 8.2 lets go!You don't have to lie to kick it.

Hmm... There's 9 days to have this iTunes 8.2 stuff sorted out, then we're all screwed!

Well I guess that no one has had the problem I mentioned in my earlier post so I assume that is why know one responded. Any way I fixed it myself.
