i have a really bad problem:
i accidentaly upgraded itunes to 8.2
i managed to jailbreak my iphone (1st generation) and now i can't
open itunes, it says that file itunes.itl was created by old version and i cant even sync or anything..
i tried uninstalling it, system restore, nothing works.
im on pc windows xp
please help! thanks

I had the same problem and someone told to go into itunes and delete two files there .xml and .itl once you do that it will be fine.

I had the same problem. Follow this step and you should be fine.

1) uninstall itunes 8.2
2)Go to -> My documents
3)Go to -> My Music
4)and you should have a folder named "iTunes"
5)Delete this folder (you WILL lose your library!!)
6)Restart your computer
7)Install itunes 8.1
8) READY TO GO!

ps. Why you want to have 8.1? Dev-team said is ok to install 8.2 ad their tools will work with it (no ssh though)

I updated and I don't have a problem with my apps. I guess it's just with some people in different firmware and baseband's

if your iphone is already jailbroke you won't have any problems!
the post was telling that when 8.2 was realeased it has some security settings and if you would try to jailbreak an iphone by QuickPwn on 2.2 (for yellowsn0w) you couldn't do that.
But with the realese of the v3.0 the dev-team realeased new softwares that can work on 8.2

will i lose all of my phonebook contacts then?
i don't mind losing music playlists and all that.

no you won't lose your contacts. Those are from your email program, not iTunes.

got back on 8.0 but as it opened, message that it cant sync iphone 3.0 software with this version of itunes.
i upgraded again to 8.2
this time itunes recognise my iphone but freezes everytime!
cant do anyting with it.
any advice?

Put your phone in DFU mode (Google it) then restore to 2.2.1 Firmware... jailbreak if you'd like after that.

just uninstall itunes make a restart and install itunes 8.2 again!
that was my questions dev-team released their tools that work with itunes 8.2 and we can jailbreak our iphones on v3.0 why do you want itunes 8.0?
