s technicaly he didnt write any codes, in a way all he did was copy and pasted a few links all in one application. I'm guessing that he doesn't have his own sensors for the quakes, but its not to shabby.

You mean his Dad, a professional programmer made the application, and Joey named it.

This kid just ripped off one of Apple's examples called 'Seismic XML.' He didn't change anything.

I wrote my first iPhone app when I was 10
Unfortunately the iPhone wasn't invented for another 30+ years and I've forgotten what I did with it...

This pisses me off to no end that some kid stole a sample from apple's site and gets this level of publicity, while people like me who are busy writing legit apps have to struggle just to get a few sales a day. Apple should remove that app.

Glass half full.
I'd like to give the benefit of doubt and say that I feel certain that they "AppStore/Apple" investigated this before they approved it.
Makes me feel good that a young man/boy could accomplish this.I think it is naive to think that there are many kids out there that have the "G2" to do this. There are many talented young people just here on our forum that have unbelievable skills.
Seems if you have doubts you would try to investigate a bit more before calling Scam. Just sayin'

Earthquake
Did this 11 year old give the source code to Apple? This is one of the sample programs, I downloaded the sample, changed the NavBar and have the program!
Want the data, don't need equipment, just pay your taxes and you get the USGS!
Latest Earthquakes: Feeds & Data
This is free, you payed for it!
Maybe there is more to this than meets the eye..... why would Apple post the app they wrote and say an 11 year old wrote it??? Interesting
