I would have to agree that GRIP is just a lavish pop-up, but I ALSO agree that push notifications, are a bit weak for "the best phone in the world."
YES, Thank God for jailbreaking, BECAUSE it gives us "little guys" the chance "use AND help tweak" apps like GRIP.

APPLE may not provide us with real notifications..... YET, but give them time.
-AND, in the meanwhile, lets work with what we got.

AND YES, WE ARE ALL FANBOYS. IF WE WERNT, WE WOULDN'T BE ON THIS WEBSITE.

^^^ agreed^^^

I would love backgrounding with the option of pop-ups on certain apps but we haven't quite gotten there yet... Well not until the official 3.0 release and Jailbreak + Backgrounder. :-)

and i guess I am a fanboy then, i can accept that.lol

I really wonder how apple to resolve the battery life issue for so many push enabled programs. How can you put those battery hungary applications into such battery handicap iphone? may be Viagra will make it up and running..... hopefully

With the Push, the notifications are sent from external servers for the Apps, so that the programs don't have to run continuously. So you're getting usage as needed! we should notice minimal change in battery life unless we've got the vibration setting on.lol

I love the iphone, but i´m not blind to it´s obvious flaws...

The notification is outdated and retarded, and anyone with a functioning brain can see that. Unless their love to apple as reach grounds of pathology.

dude... i totally agree with you.lol

We have to jailbreak and use Taskbar Notifier (status Notifier)to get a visual notification about mail while using any of the other Apps. That should've been on the very 1st firmware in my opinion. :-(

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for better, and waiting for the firmware AND the jailbreak. No one ever gets it exactly right, right???.lol
