Was running 3.0 B4 not jailbroken and downloaded Sling.. It worked of course over 3g. Decided to update to B5 and jailbreak with Cydia. Did that not problem.. applied the IPCC to get back my MMS and then installed the 3gfixer or whatever it was called. Sadly, my SLingplayer wont run nor will the appstore.. they just crash back to the srpingboard. I had a cpl apps that crashed in B4 and still do in B5. Anyone else have Sling crashing on B5?? ANY help appreciated.... totally frustrated now

After updating the voipover3G .plist intially everything was as normal but did not work over 3G.

That was last night - later today no apps would open. Just crash to springboard.

I downgraded to 2.2.1 to use Voipover3G so that sling could be used over 3G but it was pointless. Playback over 3G is dreadful and 'Optimizing' appears constantly and buffers the thing. Irritating. Stay at 3.0 b5 and wait for some mobile substrate support or forget the app for now.

Just restore to 2.21 in iTunes and ignore the errors i believe.

I spent 2 hours going from windows to mac trying to find a working solution.

Exactly as it says:

on a Windows Computer

1) open itunes
2) get iphone in DFU mode
3) select shift + restore iphone (using the original 2.2.1 firmware, not the custom one)
4) let iphone do the restore process until you get ERROR 1013
5) close itunes
6) open quickpwn. you will get a message saying to hold power and home for 15 seconds. do it exactly like that hold the power and home for 15 secs.
7) turn on iphone by continuing to hold the power button for 2 secs
8) open itunes and BINGO iphone is recognize and activated
9) THEN jailbreak using QuickPwn (or get no signal)

And no, i have heard "You can downgrade from 3.0 to 2.2.1 whenever you like" all the time since ive been at 3.0. How wrong that is.

Also, that infois copy+pasted. The errors can be anything, not only 1013. Whatever the error is - just ignore it and continue.

And its using QuickPwn 2.2.5-2

Also, for anyone currently on 2.2 using yellowsn0w who wants to get to 2.2.1 while keeping the 02.28 baseband (and yellowsn0w still working )

To use it - turn your iPhone off. Now open itunes on your computer, hold the home button on your iPhone and connect the iphone to your computer.
Continue to hold the home button.

Your iphone will pop up in 'Restore mode'

Windows - shift + click restore and choose the downloaded Firmware
Mac - alt + click restore and choose the downloaded firmware.

I was excited for 5mins this morning when I saw the release and read about tricker 3G. Only to find yet again as I have now several times since finally installing beta 5 compat Cydia a couple days ago, it's another thing that won't work with 3.0. I see allot of people on 3.0 and allot of them saying apps dont work including Sling. Why is everyone rushing to use the Betas of 3.0, what do they really give you that 2.2.1 Jail Broken with some apps installed dont ? Why not just wait until 3.0 is out and Cydia and the rest are all up to speed with the changes.

Tricker ThreeG was gone all morning for me as well. It seems to show up now though. (no more time out errors in Cydia as well)

I was about to try iPhone 3.0 beta until I read that mobilesubstrate wasn't working in 3.0 just yet. (in the works soon though which is great) I'd rather have my slingplayer working over 3G so I'll wait until I hear it's ready.

I'm the other way around on that. I've been enjoying 3.0's built in improvements right off the bat. However, I can't say I would have wanted to screw around with Cydia apps to do practically the same thing instead of just running 3.0.

BTW Slingplayer does work with 3.0, it's just tricker 3G that isn't for the moment.

Anyone notice how incorrect the aspect ratios of both 4:3 and 16:9 TV is on slingplayer iphone, you can even see it in the snapshots here. It's like 16:9 is unnecessarily squashed into 14:9 and 4:3 to something even less.

For those having trouble with tricker threeg not showing up in cydia, go in to cydia and tap refresh in the upper left hand corner.
