I have the WM version of this so I would guess I can transfer it to the IPhone if I end up keeping my IPhone but I highly doubt I would want to. I mean I use sling player mobile to watch my TV when I don't have a Wi-Fi connection like when I'm ridding in a car. I sometimes even just listen to ESPN while driving so I find the fact that it's Wi-Fi only just pointless. I mean what am I going to do sit at home and connect to my Wi-Fi and watch it on my IPhone or IPod touch? I'm sure glad that Windows Mobile and BlackBerry's are not restricted because I have one of each. I’ll probably test it out if there is a trial available but that’s about it.

I highly doubt you can transfer any registration from WM to iPhone.
Also, for anyone saying why get this since its only usable on wifi, a few questions -
1 - is your home or office the only place you have ever seen or used wifi?
2 - do you really think with as many people as want this, that once this app is in our hands that there won't be some dev somewhere who will create a patch or an app that will allow this to stream on 3G?

Not really tbh, it's far too expensive and why the hell would I buy it when it only works on Wifi and second I don't even know what SlingPlayer is and never heard of it before.
For Voipover3G to work, don't you have to put a "string" in for that app you want to use over 3G in the Voipover3G folder over SSH or something like that, I doubt it'll work over Voipover3G unless you edit it's files or the dev updates it.

Have just downloaded this from the App Store in the UK.
It has no icon and requires an account @ slingaccounts.com
Will post a screenshot or 2 when its up and running.

Well lets hope there is a patch for it. I'm sure there are others out there who feel it should not be on Wi-Fi only. But it's good that it's finally here though.

Have also noticed:
I have sky+, and there doesnt seem to be any simple way to access the 4 colour buttons on the sky remote. Ill play with it more tomorrow. Im tired.
Hopefully wake up to "Yay, it works with VoipOver3G"

If someone could try this with a beta5 3.0 iPhone that would be great.Last edited by reeko; 05-12-2009 at 07:03 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Ha, you'll have it soon. The apps seem to be released around 20 past midnight in the UK.

How close is it? I also don't get why they do not support Slingbox AV either. Another downside I guess but from what I've read is that it does work with this model at least.

WTF? If it works with VoIPover3G, shouldn't someone change the name?
Can't someone make a mod that tricks the entire phone in general into thinking it's using WiFi when it's using 3G? That would be awesome. Then I won't have to use MxTube to watch YouTube videos over 3G because the quality in the YouTube app would be better.
Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?
