Hozy: If I used the QuickPwn that was released earlier for my iPhone 3g, do I need to run the new QuickPwn that you guys just released? Or am I good with the jailbreak from earlier?

To use it you have to have the first version of the iTunes 8.2 Pre-Release and Press Shift + Check For Update, then choose ipcc instead of ipsw in the file type field, then find the ATT_US ipcc and install it. (This is assuming you have AT&T.)

To get MMS etc. Working

SSH into your iDevice an go to

/private/var/mobile/library/

You will see a folder link "Carrier Bundle.bundle"

Once you open that you will see a bunch of files..

To utilize this, rename your custom carrier .ipcc file to .zip an extract it

once you extract you should get a folder called

"Payload"

open it an you will find a folder called "YOURCARRIERNAMEHERE.bundle"

open that, an copy all the files from that, to

/private/var/mobile/library/ in the "Carrier Bundle.bundle" folder

and then reboot your device

try phoneview.. works for me... downloaded off from piratebay

i just jailbroke using latest quickpwn... after everything is complete it comes back to activation screen .. by d way i have an iphone 2g

Thanks. Got my 1G phone jailbroken.

Do not install Qtweeter in cydia or you will have to restore you phone all over again. Mine was stuck on the Apple logo.

This is exactly the same thing as shift clicking upgrade and then adding the .ipcc file through iTunes...I don't follow?

This will set you in the right direction but this alone will not make MMS work.

With 2G iPhone, i got "NO SERVICE", after restoring to 3.0b5, and also after quickpwnb5.
When i restored my phone to 2.2.1 and then quickpwnd, neutered, will able to use my phone normally.
with 30b5 comes bb update for iPhone 2G??

DiskAid 2.0 works on 3.0 DiskAid 2.5 has been restricted for some reason.

I found Cydia 3 to be very unstable.
I've installed Icy and I'm going to use it, for now.

I think Saurik should have not released Cydia 3 now: the bugs are really too much. I've always experienced some crashes with Cydia, but now I can't even install some packages.
He probably was in a hurry because he doesn't want to let RipDev increase their market share.

Me too. Whatever I do I always get the pink iTunes screen with Beta 5 on my 2G.

actually iphone first generations( not 3gs) hold onto there unlock once you unlock them...
