I upgraded to b5, jailbroke with your instructions, replaced the ipcc and configured the mms settings as above. With all the other conflicting posts (not by you of course), what else needs to be done? Do I have to do the SIM switch with another phone? Get someone from AT&T to change settings?
Thank you again for all your help...for the whole community.
On b4 and now b5, my phone wont' seem to hold onto 3G or wifi. I will lose the wifi connection first, then eventually the 3G will just sit on EDGE.
This is especially annoying since I use REMOTE to control my home sound system...but like I said, I keep losing the wifi, so I have to keep re-initializing it.
The only way to maintain it, is to put it in Airplane mode first, then re-enable wifi...

^ You need to call AT&T. The problem is that they are not allowing you to connect to media net, which is needed for MMS. Check out my MMS guide in my signature.

I don't recall seeing this from anyone else. But when beta 4 came out I had a problem updating, it would get almost finished and give me an error code, I eventually had to revert my iTunes back to 8.1, then upgrade to beta 4, and then upgrade iTunes to 8.2, in order to activate my phone. Now when trying to upgrade to beta 5 I'm getting an error this time before it upgrades, telling me it can't upgrade the firmware, so I went back to 8.1 again and now it's saying that iTunes can't access the phone because it needs iTunes 8.2. So has anyone else had this probelm, or know how to fix it??

Have you tried a different USB port?
I had a problem like this when moving to b5 and changing USB port fixed the problem for me.

If you want a non-megaupload mirror of the Quickpwn beta 5: http://blog.alltechrelated.com/files...eedsbundle.zip

for the iphone 2g i think the bundle should be exactly the same but rename it to iPhone1,1_3.0_7A312g.bundle and change the sha1 in info.plist to b73d5bb7daf87b30ffd9385802615a750c51e68d
This is based on the comparison between the info.plist's of beta 4 where the only difference i could find between the 2g and 3g bundles was the sha1 and the name
