Does anyone know if you can hide the sms notifications in 3.0?
I mean where there is no pop up notification at all.

hey guys, i updated to beta 5 and then updated ipcc file from Stealth.... i then lost my mms but tethering was still there. i think i may have figured out how to get the mms settings back although i have never been able to get mms to work on my phone. what i did was go to settings>general>network>cellular data network, then under MMS for MMSC type in: mmsc.cingular.com and under MMS proxy type in: 066.209.011.032
these settings are totally random, i was googling mms settings and found these for ATT so then i typed them in and restarted my phone and now i have MMS enable/disable settings again! let me know what you guys think.

Is the A2DP performance better? I'm getting a bit of skipping with beta 4 and I'm still waiting for volume control.

Any of you brave souls with 3.0 willing to check your Settings>General>Keyboard>International Keyboards>Japanese and reply telling me what you find there?

As the guide states u dont need new itunes for beta 5... however...
if you have expired beta, ie the purple/pink screen of death, you need to have itunes 8.2. this was the case for 2 phones i work with today and i worked with stealth or well he gave me guidance and the problem was fixed. so thanks stealth and purple screen needs itunes 8.2

StealthBravo: "a Japanese keyboard"
Really? Just one? Does it say "Japanese Keyboard" or "Kana" or something else? In 2.2 there are two or three depending on whether you have emoji enabled or not. Seems strange that they would pare down a feature like that. I was actually hoping for a handwriting recognition Japanese IME like Chinese has.Last edited by larsuck; 05-09-2009 at 01:18 AM.

Has anyone else had this problem with beta5? I have three win xp machines which all have iTunes 8.2.13 but on 2 of them my 2g iPhone is recognized but cannot be identified whereas on the other one it can but WILL NOT upgrade to 3.0 b5?

I've been flipping through this forum a bit. I am considering joining the developer program to get access to the 3.0 beta. Few questions for you guys
If I am a legit ATT customer and upgrade to the 3.0 beta, will I LOSE any features on my phone without doing the special techniques provided?
Also, how buggy is version 5? I read before that alot of people tried to convert back because 3.0 was very unstable.

I'm on AT&T and haven't lost anything (what were you thinking you would lose anyway?).
I don't think beta 5 is buggy at all. It's VERY stable and is VERY speedy. I haven't come across any app store compatibility issues either.
If I were you, I wouldn't join the developer program just to get the 3.0 beta (even though a lot of people are doing it, which is kind of stupid). I would just get an existing developer to add your UDID.
