I have restored my 1st Gen iPhone to 3.0 Beta 4 and then ran unofficial Beta QuickPWN. iPhone is jailbroken and activated.
All of this without a Dev account. You do not need a Dev account to activate on 1st Gen iPhones.

I tried to jailbreak my iphone 1st generation, but QuickPWN said that it couldn't read the IPSW. What is it supposed to be titled? Is it something like iPhone_1,1_3.0_7A300g_Restore.ipsw?

That is the right firmware. There have been numerous reports of having to close and reopen quickpwn several times to get it to see the firmware correctly.

QuickPWN has been sitting at "Uploading exploit bootloader" for about 5 minutes now. Is this normal?
"In computer networking, a Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to most network adapters or network interface cards (NICs) by the manufacturer for identification, and used in the Media Access Control protocol sub-layer." (1)
"The Macintosh, or Mac, is a series of several lines of personal computers designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc." (2)

Hello ipeople gotta a little problem I cant seem to get quickpwn to recognize beta 4 for some reason it's saying it's corrupted or It's not the correct firmware. Any suggestions, just to let everyone know, that I've installed itunes 8.2 on my personal pc but decided to quickpwn it on a different pc, could itunes be the the reason why quickpwn don't recognize beta 4 7A300g???
