2.5??? the iPhone uses a 4-pole 3.5 mm jack. 3.5 is the regular size jack found on just about everything that takes headphones..... including the iPhone, in addition to the recessed input. Almost all headphones have 3-poles for audio only, but as you already know the iPhone has a 4-pole. However, that extra pole is used (right now) for an in line Microphone. I would believe the use of TV-out via the dock connector (if its not built in already, you may have to buy a dock with the extra pole.... If it is, then apple has had the ability this whole time and just cock-teasing us). I would NOT believe the use of TV-out via the headphone jack. That seems like upgraded hardware. Changing software doesnt magically send video out your headphone jack..... unless it actually is magic... which I dont (publicly) believe in.
Fingers Crossed though, that would be a sweeeeeet deal.

Well, as an owner of an unlocked iphone I'm not very impressed. If I had a locked one, I'd probably upgrade, but this is hardly a must-have update.

Everyone that already don´t have an iphone yet must run to the nearest Mac store to buy an iphone with version 1.02 or wait for the new firmware v1.11 to be cracked (safe unlocked) ?

Has anyone upgraded to 1.1.1 and tried the Video Out yet?
On the new iPod Classic & iPod Touch there are new video out cable sets - both a composite output and a component output versions - that connect via the Dock connector. Word is that these new iPods require TV Out docking cradles with some special Apple chip in them - but I'm not sure if there is anything special in these new cables or not.....
The "old" iPod dock connector had Composite Video going out the dock connector and I recently purchased a iPod car cradle from Dice Electronics which has a dock connector and goes to a iPod car control, but it also splits out the video/audio from the dock connector and puts it onto the 3.5mm 4-pole output for use with the traditional video cable. I got this cradle espically for the video output as I wanted to run video to the backseat for the kids....
Anyone have a DICE Video cradle and tried V1.1 yet?
thanks...
