I got an interesting message while browsing on my iPhone today:

"You need to update your device's software in order to access the iTunes store.

Simply sync your device to your computer and click "Check for Update" and then click this iTunes Store link again from your device when syncing is complete."

2.5??? the iPhone uses a 4-pole 3.5 mm jack. 3.5 is the regular size jack found on just about everything that takes headphones..... including the iPhone, in addition to the recessed input. Almost all headphones have 3-poles for audio only, but as you already know the iPhone has a 4-pole. However, that extra pole is used (right now) for an in line Microphone. I would believe the use of TV-out via the dock connector (if its not built in already, you may have to buy a dock with the extra pole.... If it is, then apple has had the ability this whole time and just cock-teasing us). I would NOT believe the use of TV-out via the headphone jack. That seems like upgraded hardware. Changing software doesnt magically send video out your headphone jack..... unless it actually is magic... which I dont (publicly) believe in.

Fingers Crossed though, that would be a sweeeeeet deal.
