Unofficial iPhone 3.0 Beta 4 Jailbreak Released (iPhone 3g Only)

MMi member moderator StealthBravo has released a patched Quickpwn utilizing a beta 4 3G bundle cracked by HoZy and lilstevie. The current version is iPhone 3g only! The jailbreak is Windows only (packaged in windows QuickPWN).

Like the previous 3.0 beta jailbreaks this one installs Icy (Cydia isn't ready yet). Also like previous 3.0 beta jailbreaks you need to have your iPhones UDID in a dev account. StealthBravo has also put together instructions to troubleshoot common problems in his huge Firmware 3.0 jailbreak thread.

IF you are having problems with quickpwn saying your phone is in the wrong mode. You need to manually put it into recovery mode. edit: Recovery mode IS NOT DFU mode

can someone confirm this:
if your a non-dev. and u download iphone 3 beta 4 from a site, put it on your phone it will work?
and if something goes wrong can we downgrade it to 2.2?

lol yes you can try that, it most likely won't work and it's a pain to downgrade to 2.2 again you Have to have a windows computer and some persistence... I wouldn't f with it. just wait or get on a dev list. it's not that hard just ask around for some deals

after installing beta 4 and using quickpwn I cannot get a carrier signal am I doing anything wrong

You need to be registered with a dev inorder to get 3.0b4 to work, If you're not I'm pretty sure iTunes 8.2 won't even let you update your phone.

Am I right?

You need to make sure activate is UNTICKED when u QuickPWN or you wont get any service.

Instantly crashes when run in XP under Parallels and when bootcamped into Vista 64Bit Quickpwn doesnt recognise the beta4 .ipsw file as a valid one (even though it definetely is as i restored to it with my iPhone)

It's my first 3.0 jailbreak so am i missing something here?

update XP to service pack 3 and make sure your .NET frameworks are updated to the latest and greatest
