Extreme Typing Showdown: iPhone vs. Netbook
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Rally car + iPhone + Asus Eee PC + pangram. What could be better to test out whether the iPhone or the netbook will conquer as the ultimate on-the-go mobile device?
Winner: iPhone. The Asus doesn't even begin to compare in this unscientific and totally awesome test that has no real comparison in normal every day life. If you are skydiving, rally racing, going to space, dogfighting in your fighter jet or participating in any other high-g hard to type activity choose the iPhone.

Haha that was cool I love my I phone but mannn I really dont think that was fair because the iphone has a auto correct feature If he would have turned that off then it would have been fair. Well the iphone would still own.

Um...How in the world could you type so perfect on a virtual keyboard on a phone and type that crappy on a physical keyboard on a netbook. That really doesn't make any sense to me. :/

Probably Auto-Correction kicked in.

Auto Correction probably helped out a lot. Also the fact that the PC was on his (moving) lap and the iPhone was held in his hand.
Best part was seeing him freak out at the speed.I am Olim. We are Olim. And we just did this- together!

Auto-Correct ftw. I saw this vid on Giz yesterday and laughed at it cause their comment was watch the video and be surprised by the results. But you know the iPhone would win because of the auto-correct feature idk why you would think otherwise.

Autocorrect definitely does help, but you don't type a perfect sentence with no errors on a touch screen phone and not type a single English word on a netbook with physical keys.

^ It's probably the other variable that's left out is who's to say that the guy in the passenger seat is a good typist.

Sorry. I didn't check back here until now. I got my broadband card from Sprint, and I pay slightly over $70/month for the service. I don't know whether that's good or bad, nor whether the service quality/speed is either good or bad as I really haven't checked into it that much. It simply meets my needs and that's enough (for me).
Hope that helps.
P.S. It's not so much a "card" as it is a device approximately 3 inches long and about 3/4" wide x 1/4" thick, with a little fold up antenna on it, that plugs into a USB port.Last edited by spongebobiwan; 06-14-2009 at 11:30 AM.
