i see what your saying but think about all the people on Verizon, and think about how popular the iphone is, now combine them and imagine how many iphones there will be it just would make the iphone monotonous and less special if everyone and there brother has one. Not that i have the iphone to be different, i love the phone for its features, but the thought of everyone having the same phone as me just dose not sit well with me.

i know what you mean, and the fact they have the blackberry storm, so they already have enought cool phones. iPhones will be less valuable if it goes to Verizon and i would hate that,

I didn't buy it to be special, I bought it so I can surf the web, get emails, etc. and it is the best phone out there for that. I feel sorry for people who buy electronics to feel special like they are privileged for having the damn thing. Plus, the more people have it the merrier. We will see more features, more apps, more everything because it is that good of a profit maker. I would feel no different if everyone in the world had the iPhone. I already see 1/5 people here at school with it anyway. My mentality is probably the difference between a couple more years of life experience. When I was younger I used to want things like video games and be the first to have them just so I can show it off. I didn't even care if the thing was good or not. I have learned that my money is way better spent on good products rather than the new flashy products. The "cool" stuff loses its luster in a short period of time. The stuff that is actually useful, stays useful for longer periods of time. I can honestly say the iPhone is the only phone I have ever had over the las seven years that I use on a daily basis. not because I want to yank it from my pocket and show it off, but because it actually keeps me connected and does what I want it to do (which will be even more true with 3.0!)

I also have a strong feeling that a lot of people are pissed about the potential of Verizon getting the iPhone because they left Verizon for ATT because of the iPhone. In other words, people spent extra money to make the migration and feel others should have to as well if they want the same thing. I did the same (although not sheerly for the iPhone, Verizon customer service has done NOTHING for me EVER when I had a problem.) Quite frankly such motives are nothing short of selfishness and greed and I think they are quit silly. Once again people feel entitled because they spent a little money on something, so the company they purchased it from should bend over backward for them.

Don't scare me please. Verizon service suck so bad in NY and especially where i am living. I always have to sit near the window to talk or sometimes I get disconnected. Why Tmobile never work with Apple? Grr!
I dont want to see my cell phone bills over 150 bucks for a sucky internet like the G1.

But ATT and Apple do the same thing with locking the phone... it just so happens that hackers were able to allow you to hack it. ATT and Apple are doing no better than Verizon would be... I agree with you that locking phones to a network is ridiculous, but I do not believe that is really what this discussion is about. I don't really follow about the breath of fresh air statement though. There i no individuality as it stands, everyone has one anyway. You would be WAY more individual if you bought one of the crappy "free" phones when signing a new contract. Way fewer people have those these days. They aren't talking about making it exclusively verizon, just that Verizon maight be getting the phone as well. The Blackberry storm is on both CDMA and GSM, I see no reason why Apple can't do the same, especially if they want to boast overseas coverage/use. Bottom line, the phone will come locked to the carrier unless some new U.S. law changes this, so saying that carrier locks are bad is honestly irrelevant to this discussion, although I wholeheartedly agree (that locks are BS).

Nobody would force you to go to Verizon at all. ATT isn;t working with TMO because it is the "smallest large" wireless provider in the US. By this I mean the top three are VZW, ATT, and TMO, TMO falling way short of ATT and VZW. It's all about the money.

I don't think you are understanding the point I am trying to make. If Verizon got the iPhone, there would most likely be two versions of the phone, one for CDMA and one for GSM, much like many MANY other phones on the market. One such example that comes to mind is my girlfriend had a razer on VZW while I had a razer on TMO. The fact that anyone would not want a phone just because many other people have it is, to me, ludicrous.

I do not get it? why every ones is so worry! Verizon, ATT, what's the difference? No matter what, they will charge you, you would buy it! Apple iphone as we said in China is a "Social butterfly cell phones, as well it was the "Motorola Rzar when first came out! And what it would be? what type of phone verizon will get? Same **** that "China Unicom has! Yes you heard about it so don't twist your brain!

Apple is money hungry, as well as many American company's, and some China too. Now Apple is making cheap *** WCDMA/GSM for China Unicom, " this is the same as the Verizon Blackberry Storm 9530(GUI/OS sucks since is verizon ****) the reason they might call it lite is easy, GSM/EDGE, not 3G, the only true 3G would be the WCDMA that is able to use LTE/4G. "Since Apple is trying to make a little more Money by dealing with Verizon with the leftovers from China Unicom and some other Asian cell phone provider!

"China does not have a regular 3G, not like most Europe, or USA. the biggest 3G net belongs to the government(China Mobile) and this fucks rule with an iron fist. Only Major cities like,Beijing, Hong Kong, Macao, And Shanghai have a Normal GSM 900/1800 3G/2100MHz while the rest of china has :CDMA2000/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA. (That's a lot of cell's)

So don't worry if they actually getting it! just be Happy! at least all those verizon loyal customers might get one!

By the way, I do have a new WCDMA apple iphone, did test it out with my brothers storm sim card,(yes one of the new phone that has a verizon sim card) my unit did work, but i had a little problem with the Data service kept dropping like ****!
