^Why would you want too? When the software is available for Mac. And this stuff usually doesnt work in a virtual environment.

cpjr - Really, because I thought the jailbreak for 3.0 was only for windows. I don't want to lose access to cydia apps and ssh. If I upgrade through the standard way on my mac, how do I get cydia back on there? I've used PwnageTool exclusively up to now and had to reinstall cydia everytime I upgraded. Thanks for your help.

MMS on ATT
I can't remember exactly where I read this, but there was a really easy way to get MMS working on ATT without even calling them. Sorry for not linking to the original post/site, but here it is!
If you have an MMS-capable phone lying around, it's cake.
1. Pop your sim out of your iphone and put it in another phone (I used the Blackberry Curve 2)
2. Sent out a few text messages and made a few calls to my voicemail.
3. Signed onto att.com, accessed my account (once it registered I was using a blackberry), and switched my text messaging under plan features from the iPhone unlimited to the ATT unlimited.
4. Sent a few MMS on the blackberry.
5. Took the sim out and put it back into the iPhone.
Viola, MMS then worked for me. I also used a downloaded att-usa ipcc. Not sure if I can link to it, so just search for it on google. If you're on a PC, shift-restore and switch the file type to ipcc, and it updates in a breeze. After all this, MMS worked, and it was pretty dang fast.
And I could be wrong, but I think there currently is only the PC version.Last edited by LeeDude; 04-16-2009 at 07:56 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It doesn't matter if you use this QuickPWN!
I've installed it on my iPhone 2G and then jailbreaked with the QuickPWN and firmware 3.0 beta2 . It works great!

Be careful jailbreaking
Use care when jailbreaking because if you install the wrong items, most of your items, including things like clock, settings, photos, etc will no longer launch. I had to restore to get functionality back.
MMS is NOT working for AT&T users. According to AT&T after spending an hour on the phone with them and with Apple, AT&T will not activate MMS on 3.0 betas until it goes public. They claim that their network is not yet capable of supporting it and they are apparently under contractual agreement with Apple not to allow MMS at this time.
The supervisors and managers that I spoke with state that they would lose their jobs if they enable it.

For those getting MMS working, I am curious. Does it use just texts or do you need a new MMS plan. The first is great, the latter means I would have been excited over nothing.
Did you read the rest of the thread? Unless people are full of it (and I am seeing some names who have been active and had a good rep. in the past) they claim to have gotten things to work with a call. It's possible the rep. you talked to just didn't know what he/she was talking about. It really is hit or miss with over the phone assistance.Last edited by sziklassy; 04-17-2009 at 05:20 AM. I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

3.0 on unlocked phone
Hi everyone,
I'm new to iPhone and just wanted to ask a question.
I have an unlocked iPhone firmware 2.2 (original iPhone) unlocked and jailbroken running on T-Mobile.
My questions is, if I get any upgrades through iTunes or upgrade to 3.0 when it comes out, will that lock my phone?
Thank you.

no do not click activate.
My MMS is working great, and has been for 2 weeks. It all depends on who get when you call att.
