The Klipsche, if I'm not mistaken (as I have one of their products) is an portable external speaker system that allows the i\phone to be docked whilst being used to output its music etc.
On my iPhone 3G, charging is not supported. On my wife's 1st gen iPhone, it does charge the device whilst docked.
I think this is what the original poster was referring to. Most 3rd party accessories that were charging/compatible are not with the 3G version of the iPhone.

The 3G has one aerial for 2G reception which is the same as the 2G iPhone, the second aerial is for 3G reception, if the 3G had the same back as the 2G you would still be able to get 2G reception just not 3G.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. one single dock does not work for me. you are missing my point.
I have 2 JBL donut speakers. One by my bed to charge my iPhone at night and to use as an alarm clock, sexy time music, etc. The other is in the office in my home.
Then, in my Living Room, I have the Awesome Klipsche system with sub and dock.
When I go from room to room, I dock my iPhone to charge it & listen to music.
THE LAST THING I WANT TO DO IS CARRY AROUND A DAMN CHARGER FROM ROOM TO ROOM, WORK, TRUCK, CAR, SHOP, BACK INTO THE HOUSE,ROOM TO ROOM, etc. JUST TO KEEP MY PHONE CHARGED!
Why?,...When I have DOCKS THAT HAVE BAD *** SPEAKERS, MADE FOR MY iPhone.
I JUST DON"T UNDERSTAND WHY THE 3G phones don't support charging? SURE HOPE THE NEW ONES DO!!

No need to SHOUT!
Apple removed 12V Firewire charging from the 3G - I doubt if they'll put it back in the new one.

Hella ugly but as if WE would ever see a REAL PICTURE this early in the marketing game and scheme.
Just another persons rendition of what it MIGHT look like. (yeah right, good luck on dreaming what the Apple designers have in store!)
Waiting for phones was never this bad, pitty the technophobes... LOL.
