Thread: [ SCREENIE ] Video Recording in 3.0

  1. #61
I just messed around with the system files until I got it
mmm... hidden features? I'm gona find them.

  2. #62
How did you know to put in video-camera though? Do you know how to enable any of the other hidden features?

I just guessed since there is a boolean labeled still-camera maybe create a boolean video-camera and it just so happened to work. Look below on how to enable another feature.

    Enable Battery Percentage
    1. SSH into your iphone
    2. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/
    3. Download the file M68AP.plist
    4. Open the file using a text editor or a plist editor
    5. Add a Boolean value under the capabilities dictionary
    6. Boolean Key = gas-gauge-battery / Boolean Value = true
    7. Save and upload the file to the same directory that it was originally in
    8. Go onto the iPhone and respring
    9. Now go to the application Settings -> General -> Usage and there will be a Battery Percentage toggle and you can use it to enable battery percentage next to battery icon in top-right corner.

And I also discovered that all of the carrier files used to enable tethering are nothing compared to the original carrier files found on 3.0 beta 2. So I modded the original 3.0 beta 2 settings to enable tethering and they are more stable (no dropped calls like I experienced with the other carrier files) and they work better for tethering (I experienced faster speed in the same area with my modded carrier files). I can post my modified ATT_US.ipcc later... Once I figure out how to post a download link on modmyi.com

Nice work, this is another way to enable the battery percentage-

To enable the battery % in the status bar-
    1. SSH into your iphone
    2. Go to /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/
    3. Download the file "com.apple.springboard.plist"
    4. Open the file using a text editor or a plist editor
    5. Add a Boolean value under the capabilities dictionary
    6. Boolean Key = SBShowBatteryLevel/ Boolean Value = true
    7. Save and upload the file to the same directory that it was originally in
    8. Go onto the iPhone and respring
    9. Your battery % will now be in your status bar, change the value to false^ to disable the %

Have you looked into N82AP.plist? I think it has the ability to enable mms in it...

Yes, but mms is already enabled on the phone side, AT&T just needs to activate it on their side. I have a friend and she is on a iphone 3g business plan and her mms works (she has a unmodified, unjailbroken iPhone 3G 16GB). We didn't even modify her carrier settings but her mms worked out of the box.

hmm ok...i just thought maybe the same thing could be used to activate mms on a 2g:/
it seems that N82AP.plist is 3g specific and M68AP.plist is for the 2g...

To split your iPod app into music and video apps or vice versa-
    1. SSH into your iphone
    2. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/
    3. Download the file M68AP.plist
    4. Open the file using a text editor or a plist editor
    5. Change unified-ipod from true to false (or vice versa)
    6. Boolean Key = unified-ipod / Boolean Value = false
    7. Save and upload the file to the same directory that it was originally in
    8. Go onto the iPhone and respring
    9. Now you will have a separate app for music and a separate app for videos

But changing unified-ipod to false can cause some issues in the Settings application (I think). I would check
