Apple and China Fail to Get Along . . . again . . .

After talks of bringing the iPhone to China via the carrier China Mobile failed Apple and China Unicom started talking. Things appeared to be going along just fine and the iPhone had even shown up for display on the China Unicom wbesite.

Maybe some love between China carriers and Apple just isn't meant to be. Once again talks of iPhone in China have come to a grinding halt as reported by Trading Markets.

Talks between China Unicom and Apple to introduce iPhone into China came to a halt as Apple was said to have asked the Chinese telecoms carrier to stand costs of building Apple special stores in this country after China Unicom agreed on a profit-sharing plan proposed by Apple.

Definitely the other way around!! Apple is missing the largest and the fastest growing economy. Every day that passes gives Apple competitors more time to catch up. Besides, it would help EVERYBODY if Apple ate a little crow and compromised. Don't you think they're margins are plenty high enough (currently at 56%)??

BTW: One of the reasons why Asian economies grow faster than US/EU countries is their bottom-line expectations. Most believe 20-30% margins are very nice. Not so in US/EU where 40% is the absolute min, and 45-50 is the norm. (Note: this does not include supermarkets)

All this willy waving will come to an end soon. I would not be surprised if Apple do not announce an agreement to sell some version of the iPhone in China soon.
They are not stupid enough to miss out on potentially the worlds largest market.

apple finally tried to move into a market that gives a damn less if they come or go. Apple is used to screwing their way into everything and china had to be the one to tell them "uhhhh..... WE ARE the electronics market, we don't get screwed".

And @ mes.... The iPhone is not about hardware, it is software. All the way down to it's multitouch. Nobody is catching up. You can make all the hardware in the world and it isn't jack without OSXmobile and multitouch software behind it.
