1. If your contacts are saved in whichever default email client you have set up, then they should all be re-synced after setting up as a new iPhone and syncing for the first time.
2. As long as your UDID is registered in the Apple development program, you shouldn't have any issues upgrading without virginizing your phone first. I upgraded to 3.0 B1 straight from a jailbroken 3G running 2.2.1. If you had a personalized carrier, and were using the numeric statusbar battery indicators, those will likely remain after updating (not restoring) to 3.0 B2.

But can I actually restore my current iPhone profile with the new beta and still have youtube work? I mean, yeah, contacts are nice, but I want the whole shebang restored, text messages, camera roll, ringtone settings, etc.
Also, I'm not on anybody's dev list yet. I've got $1.35 in my paypal account. Who wants to help a brother out?

No calls to AT&T... I used this method (http://www.modmyi.com/forums/t/51047...ml#post3455321) about a month ago when I was trying to get SwirlyMMS to work. It was working great with Swirly until I upgraded to 3.0b1, then I was only able to recieve MMS (with Messaging App, of course). Once I upgraded to 3.0b2, I was then able to send and recieve MMS and still am. I can also confirm that video works great, I had my bro-in-law send me a video from his Samsung phone earlier.

Have they added a decent battery low notification in 3.0? It's really annoying when I'm talking on the phone and it just dies out of nowhere.

is it just me, but does anyone have visual voicemail working?

Visual voicemail works fine for me... Have you tried updating your carrier (ipcc) file with a modified one to enable tethering? If so, it may have disabled MMS in the carrier configuration.

The original dev who made you a tester should be able to distribute the firmware to you.

I am selling spots on my Dev account for $100
The first person who wants one might have to wait a while until I set up my account .....He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Yeap! I do.
All you have to do is fresh reinstall, and set up at a NEW IPHONE (do not backup).
Good day, mate!

Can anyone help? I just upgraded to 3.0 and upgraded carrier settings to 5.0 and my MMS will not work. It fails to send the message.
Apparently, AT&T will not turn on MMS even for developers, I tried.
Any suggestions how to get this to work before the official version comes out if you are using AT&T?
04-07-2009, 06:22 PM #100
There's no work-around for mms at the moment, AT&T has NOT enabled mms on the iPhone, and while you may be able to convince an AT&T rep to enable it (most unlikely), periodic sweeps of at&t's network would disable mms again anyway...
