Sorry for such a newbish question but is it possible to edit the .plist file without a computer? Perhaps an iPhone FTP client? I have yet to connect to my phone via ssh.

Skype on the iPhone is not working for me. It crashes constantly!!
Apparently it has conflicts working on a Jailbroken iPhone. Thats a shame, since its the only way I can use the phone because I'm with a non official carrier.

Canada = No Skype
Hey guys... any idea when this Skype app will be available in Canada? Still is not on the AppStore.

Another reason to have a US iTunes account...

The most important thing to note seems to be that the Skype app is a no-go for jailbroken iPhones. When installed on one it constantly crashes, becoming virtually useless...that's what i heard.... sorry for my english.

As has been said by multiple other people, if you update mobilesubstrate from cydia, the crashes on jailbroken phones seems to stop (or at least it did for me).
Im still trying to get the VoIPover3G to work, but cannot get it. I have tried modifying the VoIPover3G.plist file in /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/, and I have also tried renaming that file, but no luck in getting Skype to not think Im on 3G.

with the new mobile substrate update, saurik disables MobSub in Skype to help with crash issues, which in turn disables voipover3g. I had it working properly with voipover3g before I updated, but not any more. disabling widgets and all other memory hogging "bling" helps stability greatly.

if you want voipover3g with skype, use nimbuzz. doesn't crash, works with voipover3g and backgrounder flawlessly, and you can skypeout. until skype gets updated, i'll stick with nimbuzz.
edit- i dont think skype is up to something (since they support jailbreaking and cydia), i think it's an app that hogs memory, so most of us with themes and widgets are going to experience crashes

What is the current best "keep my wifi on while in sleep mode" app? I want to run skype with backgrounder, but i want the wifi to stay on when i turn the screen off.
I think the old one was insomnia, and the new one is the stay awake toggle for sbsettings... is that right? or r there a few to chose from, and if so, what r the differences?
