As I mentioned, we all would like this app as soon as possible. I'm not sure why you think I am "going a little overboard." I know you only have 15 posts. But, what I am doing here is replying to posts. That's what a forum is!

looks like he was a little right with AT&T's latest announcement/changes.
im sure MMi will have them up as news in a day or so, but until then:
AT&T tweaks wireless terms of service to forbid video streaming, filesharing, data tethering
Looks like in America at least that skype isnt quite going to be the perfect app it could be

AT&T Modifies Wireless Data Terms, Outlaws Slingbox and Other Placeshifting Devices - AT&T Modifies Wireless Data Terms, Outlaws Slingbox and Other Placeshifting Devices From "Sling in the News", A Blog by SlingCommunity News: Sling Community
It's now time for someone to get the beta version and get it loaded up on Cydia. ATT has allowed slinging for years on its other platforms, including WMobile and BB. So, this coming now is nothing more than a slap at the ready-to-go iPhone release.Last edited by tsatryan; 04-03-2009 at 02:26 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

my fears are coming close to reality. looks like apple/at&t are gonna put some version of a sling in a future model and screw sling over. i say sling beats them to the punch and drops it in the cydia store or somewhere else where they can still make a profit, then again we all need to buy the actual slingbox so just let us sling for free. dont know if anyone caught wind of this but slingg is stating that in order to sling on an iphone you will need the newer models of the slingbox....i guess im not cool for having a slingbox for a couple years already.

great news! check this out...
via iClarifiedAT&T has responded to changes in its terms of service agreement which banned apps such as SlingPlayer calling it an "error". Electronista was sent a statement in response to media outrage over the changes.
...
It is still unclear whether this reversal of policy is due to a genuine error or due to the bad publicity these restrictions caused.
via ElectronistaAT&T tonight has quickly backtracked on its controversial new terms of service for cellphones that would ban video on 3G and the rest of its cellular network. In a statement delivered to Electronista, the company claims that the posting was made "in error" and that it has since been removed in favor of an earlier agreement. No mention was made as to whether any of the terms were likely to return in the future.
While the motivation behind the quick retraction is unclear, the policies had already triggered a hostile reaction from critics. The new agreement was ostensibly made to bar illegal video streams over peer-to-peer or to rebroadcast a live feed of commercial TV, but its wording would have effectively banned the use of Slingbox media hubs used to view a customer's own TV and would theoretically have barred viewing legal video sites using fixed sources, like Hulu or TV.com.
Video is already partly regulated on the network, as devices like the iPhone are often required to stream certain video services on Wi-Fi or else to reduce the bitrate.Last edited by skeredmobile; 04-03-2009 at 09:33 PM.

@tsatryan - meet you at the bottom of the cliff. After you've cought the slingbox and I've caught the iPhone we must remember to get out the way. We don't want to be hit by SB's body....

You guys are lucky. This app is not even available in canada, possibly because the sole carrier Rogers doesn't like the idea. I will be pretty surprise if CRTC (equivalent to FCC in US) and the canadian gov't will do anything on it......
Perhaps I should move on as canada is definitely not a place to stay if you are tech savvy
Please ignore this post. I'd meant to post it on the thread for Skype app... Sorry for the confusion...

This app is not available anywhere else - so where would you move to?
