iPhone Pwns Smartphone Surfing!

AdMob, one of the biggest advertiser network in the mobile phone market claims the iPhone beats all the other smartphones in terms of web usage.

Facts include:

* Worldwide, the iPhone makes up 33% of all smart phone traffic
* In the U.S., the iPhone accounts for 49.5 % of all tracked requests
* Against all phones, including non-smart phones, Apple had 11.2 % of mobile online traffic. The iPod Touch was getting 6.7% and the Motorola RAZR has dropped to 2.9% of traffic

There's a huge differenece between iPhone and Nokia, second in the list. On an other note, the jump of its share from 10% to 49.5% in US online traffic is remarkable.

Please note that it does not reflect phone sales as data usage depends on browser experience, which means Mobile Safari excels in the field.

The upcoming OS 3.0 will add some more and much-needed features to Safari like Open in New Tab and copy/ paste which will help the figures boost further

Well it only makes sense. I’ve been through a lot of phones and i must admit the safari web browser is the best. All the other phones were just annoying.

Same with me. Before i had the iphone i bearly surfed the internet with my smartphones or mobile phones but know i bearly surf the net with my PC. Surfing the web with the iphone is just so simple thanks to the safari browser and the touch interface. I have never enjoyed so much my iPhone compared to any other phone. And it gets better every year.

Who would want to surf the web on another phone? I didn't. It was a very rare occasion that I fired up medianet only to be quickly reminded that I don't use it for a reason

Whenever I would load web pages on my sidekick everything was always a mess. With my iPhone webpages load just the way they're supposed to. Go iphone!

If they ever get flash on the iPhone, the number will increase even further. I purposly avoid sites that have flash on them just to avoid being disappointed.

That's probably because real smartphones, Blackberry types, are used in the majority of times for work purposes, such as email, and office documents etc. and not a lot of web browsing.

Without a doubt but you can't deny the number of people ditching their blackberries, and palm phones, etc.. for the iPhone is increasingly growing.

My wife is ditching her Blackberry Storm for an iPhone to do work emails. What a piece of crap that thing is, she hates it. The onscreen keyboard is absolutely terrible. The web browser is average at best and the operating system is like being lost in a maze. It's also incredibly buggy and the battery barely lasts even one day. Good riddance to that thing, it made me want to throw it in the nearest pond.
