stealth yes.
You will have a fully functional phone.
But for some reason visual voicemail was not working for me.
I hear it is disabled but then some people claim it works for them.
A phone should be the most realiable thing you carry and loading it with a beta program and treating it like a computer is here most people go wrong.
I for one need a 100% crash free phone. And unfortunetely the 3.0 at its current state is the opposite of what I NEED.
Good luckon your questbecause at the end of the day youll probably tr it.

Im seriously debating this, its like tempting fate. I really just want to give it a try.
Is the downgrade difficult? It's only impossible if you quit.

I understand its for the Devs, and honestly, if I did go out and pay the 10 bucks, it'd be for testing purposes, just for myself, I'm interested to see the functionality and whatnot.
Thats why I proposed the question of if the downgrade from 3.0 to back to 2.2.1 is difficult. It's only impossible if you quit.

Ok i am a registered developer and 3.0 is a Beta release for developers to incorporate support for the new capabilities of 3.0 into their software (accessory support, push notifications, cut/copy/paste, etc...).
The Beta Developer release was not intended for general public use and that is why tethering and MMS have not yet been activated by Apple or AT&T.
The legitimacy of using 3.0 is kind of shady. While apple does allow developers to seed their apps to "testers" who don't have to be developers, apple agreed to allow developers too add up to 100 devices to their lists as to collect crash log info and make debugging much easier.
Apple do not support or recommend updating at this time (If you are not a developer or tester for a developer). It will not void your warranty but will leave you with a unjailbreakable OS. If you try to update without being on a dev list you may not be able to activate your phone, but some people have managed to circumvent this.
The only Beta support i have come across is a fresh install and the inevitable release of 3.0 Beta 2 ( I do not know when it will be released).
Downgrading is possible but there is a lot of trouble with people trying to do so on Mac OS X only because apple has more control on what we can do on as far as hacking on there than it does on the tangled mess we call windows. ;-)
I hope i answered some of the questions flying around here.
Cheers!

How do you install the 3.0 and restore back to 2.2.1?? i mean for those who have AT&T or other official couriers, they are lucky. While others will have to jailbreak it in order to reserve the baseband, don't they?

Interestingly enough, the shipping price is against eBay's rules, unless you are literally shipping them something with a rough shipping/ packaging cost of 9 bucks

I think you are unclear with the definition of scam. A scam is essentially say you are selling something, taking the buyer's money, and giving them something else, or less than that which you led them to believe they were getting. From what I see here, they are getting a "legitimate product" it just is more expensive than what you seem to feel it is worth. This is not a scam, this is you not being willing to pay 10 bucks for it. I agree it is overpriced, but that is all that it is.Last edited by sziklassy; 03-24-2009 at 03:10 AM. I know that this may sound annoying, but could someone please explain to me a downgrade method from 3.0 to 2.2.1?

downgrading is a *****, it took me awhile, basicly you have to put the phone into dfu mode, then use quickpwn on Windows machine, for some reason the mac one doesn't rec it... and then restore.. I upgraded when it first was leaked and I didn't know about having to b reg with apple I just saw the 3.0 on the torrent sites and it basicly made my phone useless.. but it followed these steps to downgrade. sorry mods if I should of linked this, wasn't sure if you liked links or pasting on the threads...
from dev. team comments: on itchy update fingers,
"
1.Put your iphone in TRUE DFU MODE! That is when your iphone screen is completely black and is still showing in iTunes! Not Restore Mode! Hold HOME and POWER button for 10 seconds. After ten seconds LET GO OF THE POWER BUTTON ONLY! Continue to hold the HOME button for another 10 seconds. Screen must be black when iTunes recognizes it.
2. So now your screen is black. Hit [ALT+CLICK] over the RESTORE button. NOW select the Firmware 2.2. *My screen went white for like 2 or 3 seconds*
3.ITS NOT GOING TO WORK! You will get an error! Click OK. Now you iPhone should have the iTunes logo on top with the USB on the bottom screen.
4.Now, open up Pwnage Tool 2.2.5. Follow these steps I did.
-Click on iPhone 3G picture.
-Select EXPERT MODE on top left corner. Then hit the blue arrow on bottom right.
- “Browsing for IPSW” it should say. WAIT until you see 2.2.1_5H11 ipsw and select it. NOT 2.2_577!
-There should be six option.Go to “General”, hit the blue button on the bottom right corner.
-MAKE SURE “Activate the phone” is NOT select. Uncheck it if it is. Hit the blue button on the bottom right corner.
-Keep hitting the blue buttom on the bottom right until you get back to the options page.
-Click “Build”. Hit the blue button on the bottom right corner.
-Save file on Desktop for easy access.
-Now its building IPSW.
-“Has your iPhone 3G been Pwned before?” Click “NO”
overall I would just wait
and sorry I don't know about the stereo bluetooth yet...

Why not? If people will pay... good. For those not willing to pay... too bad for them. We always pay more for stuff that most others can't get/ People are willing to pay a premium just to be able to say they have something that others do not. I laugh not at the people who are trying to sell these things but at those were are willing to PAY for a beta of a FREE product.

I have been using my stereo bluetooth headset for a few days with iphone 3.0 beta and it works fairly well with two exceptions. Don't expect to be able to cycle through any type of menu while listening to music over bluetooth. Whever the iPhone has to perform an action, the music will skip for a second or two. Internet browsing is unbearable. I'm sure this will be fixed in the official version though. The forward, reverse, play/pause buttons on the headset do nothing when pressed. On a good note, once you pair the headset, it will automatically connect if you turn your headset off then on again. I thought this was fairly seamless.
