This is about the iphone's processor, this is the slow component when you browse the internet using wifi or 3G.

I certainly don't!

I believe there will be anew iPhone, probably June/July time.
The first iPhone was released 29/06/07 - it doesn't take a genius to work out when all those American 2 year contracts run out - I think Apple wouild be missing a trick if they didn't have something for all those people coming out of contract and I don't believe Apple would do that.
This would also tie in nicely with a 'Summer' release of FW 3.0 - remember 2.0 came out with the 3G iPhone.

Apart from that I have seen nothing that persuades me that anything else is jus wild speculation (as is the above, of course).

Do you have anything other than speculation to back up your claims that there will be 2 iPhones released and when?

Firmware 3.0 shows strings for an iPhone 2,1 and iPhone 3,1. Aswell as an iPod 3,1 and two more unknown devices.
Currently I think the 1st gen is iPhone 1,1 and iPhone 3G is iPhone 1,2.

One of them iPhones better have a better camera with flash and a front facing camera for video calling/chat.

As the iPhone is not on Verizon and is tied to AT&T for the next 3 years there wouldn't be a lot of point.

My guess is 802.11n

Here's my opinion. Anyone with an iPhone and a laptop will notice their laptop loads web pages CONSIDERABLY faster than the iPhone, even if both are using the same Wifi connection with the same connection (a/b/g/n). I assume this has to deal with either the Wifi cards, or the processors ability to build the web pages as they are downloaded. THIS is probably what will be improved.

I still have the first genereation iPhone and was planning on upgrading to the 3G this summer when the 3.0 firmware is released to the public. Will Apple announce this next generation iPhone ahead of time? I don't want to buy a 3G iPhone in July and then find out a better one is about to be released this year.
