What is the benefit of activesync for the iphone? I have a dell axim, and I only use it to transfer files, get email, and add programs, which we have the new app installer, wifi and iTunes for.

developer.apple.com is completely hosed right now so downloading the SDK will take some time (if you can even get on the site). Also it clocks in at 2.1GB so it's a pretty hefty download... Also, it'll won't work on PPC (Intel Only). BTW, for those of you who know what I'm talking about it's available on the bay

YES! finally i can get my emails from work! i have a question though. if a rouge dev, like the ones here at mmi, download this sdk software can they just release apps to like installer still? doesnt this just give them all the blueprints to make great apps? or can these apps that are being developed using apples sdk can only be posted on the new app downloader from apple?
**its not my intention to hijack this thread. just a quick question if someone is willing to clear this up. thanks**Last edited by Iman07; 03-06-2008 at 05:37 PM.

They say June. Hmmmm. I'll bet it will be late and weaker than expected. Gimme $50 on the over with another $50 for a dozen asterisks to say "oh, by the way, you can't do ............. with this new firmware."

Apple's license agreement when installing the software, understandably contains specific restrictions on what kind of applications you can create. Most are expected:
- No unlocking or the ability to distribute applications in a method other than the iTunes Stores
i guess i answered my question.
