Apple Wireless Keyboard working with iPhone!

video below!
iPhone lacks a physical keyboard. Many users have complained so far but Apple is firm about its decision on not to have one. As a result, some have come up with a mod to use iPhone with external keyboards.
Ubiqkcom has made a hack that enables use of Apple Wireless Keyboard to type on the iPhone! It is based on the Bluetooth stack developed by researchers at ETH Zurich.
It uses the device’s Bluetooth hardware to connect to the Bluetooth keyboard and does work with all the applications that use on-screen keyboard (umm.. all!). The best of all is the fact that you just need to jailbreak, no hardware mods necessary!
In the video, the iPhone is in airplane mode kept side-by-side with a wireless Apple keyboard, which confirms that the mod involves no use of the Wi-fi hardware, just the bluetooth. Also, it uses the simple mechanism for “key event” which further confirms no use of a VNC server or localhost.
<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=68975" bgcolor="#000000" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="intl_lang=en-us&photo_secret=d3973802ee&photo_id=3335201114" height="480" width="640">
A noticeable thing in the video is the absence of Bluetooth icon in the status bar...
Hope to see this mod go live for public use soon!

As great as it is to have a tangible keyboard for the iPhone, but I believe its totally useless to have huge keyboard around for typing. People used to be demanding for a virtual keyboard, now they are not completely satisfied. Shows that market demand is never-ending for Apple consumers. I also don't think Apple had jailbreaking iPhone in their mind to get this wireless keyboard working with it. Why make life more difficult than it already is?

The thing on top is a screenshot. Second is the video.
As per Ubiqkcom, it can be used with other HID keyboards as well though I don't know what HID part means

Man, that's actually pretty cool. Can't wait for all the other possibilities with Bluetooth if this is any indication!

People that are saying/ thinking this is useless... if nothing else it proves that things can be done with the bluetooth that Apple had claimed cannot. great news

This is awesome! It could end up being handy from time to time, I'd think.
Any word on if it would work using the keyboard on a PowerBook/MacBook/MBP? (Yes, I realize that would almost be useless since you've got the computer right there... but it'd still be fun to tinker with.)21.5" iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3 l 15" MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 l 17" PowerBook 1.67 GHz

Actually, this could prove very useful down the road, and like already stated....just goes to show more can be done than initially expected.

Are there any bluetooth keyboards that allow pairing to multiple computers with some sort of "quick switch" option? It would be amazingly cool if I could have a bluetooth keyboard paired to my iPhone at work and at home so I could switch to the iPhone when I wanted to text and then switch back to the computer easily.
