I sure give Jay Freeman a tremendous amount of respect for taking this huge step. It sure seems risky, but I look forward to the new format. Purchasing the "paid" apps is currently a bit of a pain in the butt.

I'm anxious to see how all this plays out.

And for those of you panicking about having to pay for "every app", realize that this does NOT mean everything will cost $. The current "free" apps will likely remain free.

On a side note...it sure would be nice if he could eliminate these duplicate themes. It sure seems like other forums (cough, rhymes with "lack pity"...)are nabbing themes and adding them to their own repo!

Excellent point Bigperm26, I find it tiresome when the same stuff is listed via several different repo's. Keep the good times rolling.

My only slight worry is that developers will start being greedy, but hey, we have lived with Apple for years being greedy so lets get behind the developers who refuse to be bullied by Apple. Good luck everyone ;-)

Just wait for Apple to walk in on it's throne of lawyers. They'll beat the crap out of the store.

jay freeman is apparently ready for apple to take action and has his lawyer all ready to go. this will probably turn into a very large case if it does get taken to court. i bet apple will go for cydia itself as a whole.

You remind me of my friend of just bought an iPhone. All he does is download the "lite" versions of games and free stuff. You poor saps dont know what you're missing. Lots of great inexpensive apps out there. Cheap bastards.

Doubtful... big companies like that usually don;t want to step on Apple's toes...

I'm confused. How will this make getting Cydia apps easier? The only benefit I see to it is to read and write reviews. I've always wished I could hear what other people have to say about particular apps before installing them. Other than that, Cydia already has everything I need.

There must be a good reason the "Cydia Store" is coming out; I'm not saying there isn't. I'm just asking what that reason is.

Free for now. I see that app eventually costing something. I mean come on, all those programming hours and not getting anything out of it.

Eh, i don't think it's worth it. Sure it'll cut down a bit of time and a bit of hassle to download quickly, but cracks will fill the night sky.
