On those screen shots it clearly shows firmware v1.1.1.
It also shows a new home button setting and international setting (presumably for keyboard options) options. This will be the next firmware update.

Wait, so get the update, then mod your phone?
Is that how we are supposed to do it?
09-16-2007, 01:01 PM #52
No, long story... i got a new iPhone and i dont wanna mod it cuz i know theres an update... really soon... so i dont wanna restore so i can have the update... so what im doin is: im updating and then modding... i still need to backup my contact cuz they will al get deleted if i restore
09-16-2007, 01:06 PM #53
Yeah that probably a good idea. Backup before you update in case something goes bad. Who knows? Maybe it won't break custom app support, just erase the ones we have now. Then we just put them back on. I think they're going to do whatever they did with the touch.

just sync it before you do any modding....all of the normal data gets put back on by itunes after any restore. it's not the loss of data that you have to worry about...just the loss of your mods.Black 16GB 3G iPhone w/bestskinever

how do you back up your phone so that if you restore and then sync with itunes it will put all of your contacts back onto your phone. I dont use windows adress book or any program like that. Can you do this with windows?

so if I sync the phone today (even 1song) it back up all of my contact? Even if it jailbroken/modded?

Yes. In OS X. In Windows, it should as well, assuming you use Outlook. Double check your Outlook just to make sure they're all there after the sync either way.
