there will not be a v1.0.3. next release is 1.1.1
Check out Apple's website for the $100 credit. At the bottom of the second screen there are screen shots showing how to find your serial #.
On those screen shots it clearly shows firmware v1.1.1.
It also shows a new home button setting and international setting (presumably for keyboard options) options. This will be the next firmware update.

Yes true but it could have been easily been missed. There is company in UK that has come up with a prototype of a gps on a sim. So it is possible it could have been missed because of it's size. Here is the link to the article - http://crunchgear.com/2007/04/27/gps...m-right-right/

Is that how we are supposed to do it?

Yeah that probably a good idea. Backup before you update in case something goes bad. Who knows? Maybe it won't break custom app support, just erase the ones we have now. Then we just put them back on. I think they're going to do whatever they did with the touch.

just sync it before you do any modding....all of the normal data gets put back on by itunes after any restore. it's not the loss of data that you have to worry about...just the loss of your mods.

Yes. In OS X. In Windows, it should as well, assuming you use Outlook. Double check your Outlook just to make sure they're all there after the sync either way.
