That question has been asked and answered... I realize it can be somewhat tedious reading through the 11 pages in this thread, but I believe you'll need an external gps antenna to get this app to work with a 1st gen iPhone.

is there any way to get the downloaded maps to be smaller? or is there going to be away. I have a gps in my car with a SD card and the Maps of us and canada less than a GB.

I didnt see this question asked before but I highly doubt it works... but can u use the iPhone 3G without a SIM card and this app?(xgps)
The iPhone 3G has been jailbroken but not unlock because of the new baseband 2.30.03

curious if theres a way around this? or basically without the SIM u would not be picked up even using WIFI?

I got the 2.30.03 baseband running on T-Mobile via TurboSIM... picked it up on eBay... has a few minor glitches.. but for about $10, its well worth it.

With 2.28.00 the TurboSIM didn't like 3G access but was OK for 2G - def worth a go if you have 2.30.03 and it works with that (check first as the older ones didn't work with 2.28.00 - I don't know about 2.30.03)

This app should work fine without a SIM. GPS does not need a SIM and with this app you can download the maps first over WiFi.

Can someone explain why I get an error when my directions are already set??

Ill have the directions and gps on and when I'm driving it'll error and stop the directions. Does this happen when I lose a connection??

Disable "recalculate route"

They did say 9/3 at the latest so looks like they've done well - provided it is released tomorrow!

Why can't I download it? .. Anybody else have the same problem? Is something wrong with Cydia because there are some other ones too that I can't download.
