it is quite nice. You can search points of interest. I still haven't been able to get directions based on current location.

It's a bit slow downloading - can you guys all stop trying to download it so I can?

Everyone make sure to change the settings around!
I remember when i first got xGPS i had so much trouble just because for GPS it was set for 'xGPS Module' not 'iPhone 3G GPS'

So make sure to go through every setting menu, and change things. You have to set the language, GPS, home location, etc.

Make sure you're using the iPhone 3G GPS not xGPS Module

    Ok...

I'm having a real issue figuring out what the big deal is here. I have been one of the ones that was excited for this app's update long before it was posted here, but it's nearly the same as it was. The UI's for the app and Map Manager are different, with a few added features, but it still has the same major hang ups from what I see. 2 months for a sleeker UI? How bout getting me to point B without knowing the address?

One STILL has to know the address and plug it into the text field for directions? The Search Places function finds what you're looking for, but you then need to remember the address to plug it in the Directions search field. WTH?

What the crap is there to be excited about? Landscape mode? The voice of Ned from South Park?

Search my posts on G-Map. Hated it. Though now it's version 1.2 seems to blow doors on xGPS. The only major drawback I find is it's lack of landscape mode. It's $20 and people are said to be throwing more than that at xGPS's development. Why?

Yea.. feels like xmas morning alright, though it feels like I fell down the stairs on my way to the tree.

I spent like 5 minutes trying to touch that stupid blue pin and hoped that it'd pop up "Navigate here".

I did find that you can do almost the same thing by going to route manager instead of "search places". Create new route, for starting address, put current location, then for destination, you can do your search, then click "Compute".

It's pretty lame that you can't do it the other way.

Thanks, chow. That does work. But yea.. wow.

    I'll pass.

It's funny how caught up in the whole jailbrake/3rd party thing one can get caught up in, when there's an app that came installed on the phone that works so well. Silly.

'Til Apple allows something better, I'm with G-Map. Though it's rather feature rich, I'll have to do without landscape for now.

PS: had tried the "stupid blue pin" thing as well.

    Hey guys,

I downloaded a small map of my area and tried offline mode since I don't have 3g internet. It gives me error message saying 'unable to retrieve the driving directions from the server: no internet connection'. Anyone has a success with the offline mode?

I love it. Honestly I wanted to sell my phone than I updated this today, used it once and now I really don't want to sell my phone. It is nice to have turn by turn, I can't hear the voice thing when my music is playing(I use my phone for everything). Very awesome app, thanks so much.

It worked great for me. I was so excited. It's still a little rough, but works well.
