Im just glad I could help Ehlive, I think Rayne pretty much did it all though. Anyway, do I need to put the iPhone back in jail now when I have sucessfully unlocked it and finally able to use it with my Sim?

I did exactly what Mattias but when I type I get this error:
# cd /usr/bin
# chmod +x iUnlock
# chmod +x minicom
# launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
No such process
What should I do now??

if you are using any ftp client just copy it from /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
to your desktop or anywhere you like, so you have back up file, now delete the file com.apple.CommCenter.plist then restart your phone and try to connect again to minicom if it connects that means you have done it right
dont forget to copy it back to the /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ once you done with the unlocking process.

Damn this is strange. I succesfully unlocked the first phone, Now Im on the second one. I've done everything as before but now Im stuck on permission denied when I type minicom?
-sh-3.2# chmod +x bbupdater
-sh-3.2# minicom
-sh: /usr/bin/minicom: Permission denied
-sh-3.2# bbupdater -v
Resetting target...
pinging the baseband...
issuing +xgendata...
firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_03.14.08_G
eep version: EEP_VERSION:207
eep revision: EEP_REVISION:7
bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:3.9_M3S2
Done
-sh-3.2# minicom
-sh: /usr/bin/minicom: Permission denied
What did I do wrong this time?

the secret is type in AT before you do this code AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000"
it should work fine after that

This is frustrating, I haveuploaded everything to its proper place, but when in putty, I cant "chmod +x" anything because it tells me "theres no such file or directory"-- please help, I'm so close.

Make sure you're navigated in SSH to the actual directory the binary you're trying to chmod is in.
Even easier would be using WinSCP/FuGu depending on what OS you're running and editing the permissions there.[r a y n e]

I'm on windows XP. FuGu is for macs isn't it?
anyway, I'm following the tuts, but i get to that step it says the stuff isn't there. Am I the only one having this problem?
Ok, some how it started working and I'm on the last command:
iUnlock ICE03.14.08_G.fls nor
but when I run that, it gives me a "command not found" message. The AT&T is gone from the top left bar though, but the text says not to restart your phone or wi-fi will stop working.Any suggestions?Last edited by discostar; 09-12-2007 at 09:25 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Alright, here's what's stumping me.
Unlock works fine. I run bbupdater -v and it outputs.
After that, I start up minicom. Starts up just fine and I get AT S7=45 S0=0 L1 V1 X4 &c1 E1 Q0 at the beginning. I type AT and it says OK. I then proceed to type AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" and it just says ERROR. Keep in mind, I'm typing AT before I type that.
Any ideas guys?

WORKED LIKE A CHARM!
thanks so much for this... i ran into a problem with no text during minicom session... so i exited... ran bbupdater -v (make sure you chmod +x is when you add it to your iphone) and then re-ran minicom -s... bada bing bada boom, also i tried to just copy and paste into minicom session and it DID NOT WORK... from what i can tell you have to actually type it all, otherwise nothing shows up... what does the lockdownd file do exactly? thanks
Also, is it safe to go ahead and remove ssh/sftp/the files we uploaded?... i wouldnt want anyone logging into my phone and bricking it... thanksLast edited by fightclub; 09-12-2007 at 09:59 AM. Reason: elaboration

I'm crashing and burning here and I had those things before this unlock came out.
This is kiling me. Putty just keeps saying that files and directories don't exist when I'm looking right at them. I dont know any other way to navigate to the folder other then "cd /usr/bin/"
btw thanks to allthose that are helping n00bz like me!

I unlocked my 2 phones thanks to Rayne and Im really happy about it. My only consern now is:
1. Do I have to put the phone back to jail now? (I think it has been jailbreaked all the time). Or will iTunes f*ck it up otherwise?
2. Can I synd everything back to the phone in iTunes now? Contacts, pictures and so on without any harm for my long *** unlocking process?
