any one play with the app? I got it installed, but when I Click the Unlock icon the screen goes white and nothing really happens.

Make sure you have set the permissions of both unlock and helper within the Unlock.app folder to 755. You can do this by right clicking them from within your favorite SFTP/FTP program, and selecting Get Info. Then type in 755 for the permission!

Is anyone having a problem with a phone after unlocking and turning on and off? It constantly freezes. Works fine before you turn it off and on.

Try a restore.

Did the restore. went through the unlock again and same thing, home screen just freezes.

Mine works great, no freezes.

After unlocking, can the app be deleted?

Mine worked perfectly as well, can't say thanks enough. The .app will be an easier way when I get the chmods set up. But until then, the steps I used on iphone.unlock.no worked perfectly.

i never got the manual unlock to work no matter how many times i tried (4). but this unlock.app worked wonders the first time through. sweet.

with the app i ran it .everthing went smooth but iam still with att and how can i tell its unlocked so when i go overseas i can use it isnt there supposed to be extra menu tabb in the settings

youre probably are not going to tell until you insert some other sim card.

love the app, but it seems that after a restore, its no longer unlocked. love it though.

i just used the app by Erica Sadun (Uploaded by poetic_folly), worked freaking amazingly. Just install app, then hit start. BOOM! within 20 mins ur iphone is unlocked and u can use it with any carrier. I confirmed with my dads sim from India!!!!!!!!1

Just thought I'd post a little impromptu tutorial for the GUI here.

This install was done with OSX 10.4.10, iTunes 7.41, and virgin iPhone.

1. Run iNDependence. Activate the phone.
2. Jailbreak and install SSH.
3. After SSH is installed, return to jail.
4. Download AppTapp and install it on your iPhone
5. Install BSD Subsystem
6. Upload the Unlock.app to the applications folder on your iPhone, make sure unlock.app and helper are CHMOD 755.
7. Run The application
8. After completion, powercycle the iPhone.
9. Once powercycled, re-activate with iNDependence
10. Enjoy your unlocked iPhone
