The iphone is flying off the shelves like free candy without those features. They have no need to add anything to the one (if not the best) best selling phones on the market.
You want change / new features? Pray to God the Pre does really, really well.

:S people are still complaining? I thought the purpose of having a jailbroken iPhone was doing things Apple doesn't allow us to do. 2.2 update was excellent, greatly improved performance.
I haven't thought about firmware upgrades before I saw a thread about 2.3 (another forum). IMO, all we need is better bluetooth support, and that'll be addressed soon.

^ geez, if that's all they're spotlighting as fixes, definitely not worth the effort of upgrading and jailbreaking again (when we get the greenlight of course).

I will probably be staying on 2.2 until an update that adds actual features.
