the iphone only appealed me cuz i could unlock it, n do my own thingg thanks to the developers/iphone dev team. yah apple made the device, but i never woulda bought it if it wasn't for the other people. they did what micrsoft allows, pretty open developing. apple, does not. the idea of free open source appealed me.
get over the windows vs apple. u guys are halarious.

Yes, I personally did say Microsoft doesn't know how to make hardware, and as the poster above said, they don't make their own hardware. I challenge you to bring me a current piece of hardware that runs a Microsoft operating system (and I mean PC hardware) other than the Xbox 360 and is made in house by Microsoft. None exist. Do you see any Microsoft labels on the hardware inside the device you're using to view this forum now? I think my sig shows that I'm not anti Microsoft, I have run all of their OSs and I even run OSs of theres you probably didn't know exist.
Microsoft has proven with the XBOX that they really can't make good hardware and should stick to software which they clearly are doing something right with to be so successful.
I'm most certainly not an Apple fan as I have said, anti apple if anything. We're not comparing the xbox to the iphone, we're comparing the overall product idea.
Microsoft gives you the words, but you need to be able to speak. Apple, is kinda like your mum and dad, they give you the "hardware" and they teach you how that hardware should speak. Assuming they got it right, if you're a white *** english kid like me, you probably speak english, and the whole picture fits.
Pardon the analogy, but i didn't want to compare Apple to god and say he makes everything, hardware and software, we'd have a field day with that one!
As much as I hate Apple for the way they do business, atleast you know that the hardware and software are progressing together, and they will always work how they should because theyre being made by one and the same.
It gives them more time to focus on fixing any problems they have (like the fact that iphones fall apart) or any bugs in their software.
Microsoft however has had software design as their main focus for the longest time. Making all the software they have to, while replacing the hundreds of thousands of faulty Xbox360s because of crappy design clearly takes a chunk of their time, money and effort.
That being said, we know that Sony paid for the R&D for half the technology that is used in xbox360s processor, so they should have been able to get the rest of it right.
I'm not saying Apple is better or Microsoft is better but Microsoft have always made software, their name kind of gives that away. Apple has always made software AND hardware, and for Apple they have progressed as one since the beginning (as far as i know).
It's a difficult time to enter the race from the half way mark and being no where near up to speed.
This is why I personally don't see any manufacturer (like Apple) now coming out with a new console this late on in the game and having any success. Look what happened to SEGA, it's really just going to be the major 3, unless someone can come out with so innovative, but can cover all the bases and by pure luck get it right first time.
Sony Playstation make games consoles
Nintendo makes games consoles
Nokia makes mobile phones
Ford makes vehicles
Microsoft makes software
Apple makes....?? PCs?
If anything Apple would be compared to the likes of Sony and Nokia than Microsoft, they each make the hardware and OS that runs that hardware.
Microsoft has always been the "teacher" that will teach you english because your mum and dad didn't supply it with the hardware. Doesn't make the teacher any good at making babies
