Winners: 2008 Best iPhone App Ever Awards

The winners of the Best iPhone App Ever Awards have now been announced. An incredible 98,190 people cast votes for their favorite apps in 34 different categories ranging from business apps to games. The categories, Most Innovative App and Best Productivity Killer were extremely popular with voters.

The competition is put on by 148Apps, and its founder, Jeff Scott says, "The goal of the awards was to help publicize some applications that people may never have seen. Some of the best apps have never been featured on the iTunes front page or in an iPhone TV ad, yet they deserve recognition and publicity for the great work the developers have done."

Thanks for the post and I think its cool that most of my apps were winners...
but there are obviously some better ones out there that are free or even through cydia

Shazam is great, but being realistic, it really isn't the best app in most people's opinon. Oh well, it's not my list. I would say Facebook would probably be app of the year for me.

Too bad Cydia apps couldn't be included cause SBSettings is by far the best/most useful app by ever. I don't know how I could live with out it. Shazam is cool but how often do you use it. Once every blue moon. I use SBSettings 10-15 times a day.

Airsharing is pretty useful though.

While Shazam is very cool and must be using alien technology, I have yet to use in a "real world" situation. I would have to say an app you use every day or quite often would be the Best App Ever and for me that would be FaceBook right now.

Fieldrunners is indeed a great game, but its actually a port from a mod from Warcraft 3 on the PC, like tap defense.

What, no ''best sports app''?? Sportacular (in my opinion) is the best app ever too, I use it constantly everyday! Just when I think that app couldn't get any better, they release an update with even more cool features!! WAY too awesome to be free!!

For the record, Shazam is kickazz... still blows me away on a regular basis, and absolutely Air Sharing rocks too!

and also i think only one app that won was a big 10$ app so some times bigger isnt always better

shazam is old news...OLD...there used to be a cell phone advertised doin that same thing...it was its featured ability...needed a sports app category...i agree sportactular...but HONESTLY, i only agree with the ocarina winnings...I LOVE OCARINA...even though i suck at it...thats how you know somethin is great...when you suck at it but you love it so much
