MMS in the appstore

There is now an app in the appstore called MMS Photo Messaging
It allows you to receive for free but it currently costs about 35p/msg which is payed with credits bought through the app with paypal. They state that in the future they hope to lower the cost and even maybe get it to come out of your allowance.
Currently it looks like it only works if you are on o2, but its a step in the right direction for those who dont want to jailbreak at the moment.
This app only works for O2 Customers.Last edited by ajl917; 01-07-2009 at 03:26 PM.

Interesting. Wonder if ATT will ever play ball?

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

Don't see it. Must only for for Americans.
Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.

This is a really good idea. it looks like the app just takes the text message you receive when you get a mms and just inputs the login and password and does all the work for you! i dont see how att could control if this app comes to iphones in america or not!

Usually, searching the creator of the app will work, so I searched Ed Lea, and got nothing. BTW, I live in the US. I shouldve known that AT&T wouldnt allow this...
EDIT: From his site, http://iphonemms.net/
"This service is currently only compatible with UK iPhones on the O2 (UK) Network."Last edited by ajl917; 01-07-2009 at 02:04 PM.

Could us AT&T users download the IPA from an online source, import it into iTunes and install it on our phones?????

Its the same as the web app, which is only for O2 cutomers. I tried this app but it won't log me in. So I just rang O2 to put MMS back on my account and went back to using SwirlyMMS, which btw needs a new UI, especially for saving pictures.
No because:-
A) it hasn't been cracked and no point because it's free anyway
B) you need an O2 number and the four character password

Hmmm seems like mms will be outside of your contract, ie need to purchase credits...10 mms = £3.79, 30 mms = £11.00 and so on,
rip-off imo...

Well this has taken a while
I have to say I've been waiting on this since the old 4gigs were released.
In the mean time quip was a good substitute, but you still had to go to viewmymessage and type in the username and pass.
This will definitely be better.
