Purchase Music on iPhone via iTunes Without WiFi

Yes the exciting Macworld 09 iPhone section of the Keynote. This is badass no doubt fo sure. Apple is going out with a bang at their last MAcworld Keynote announcing that you can now purchase music when you aren't within WiFi range on your iPhone.

That's it. Short Post but there really is nothing more to say.

Note that there is a still a 10mb limit when downloading music/podcasts so for big (really big) songs you will still need wifi.

Since albums are downloaded one-song-at-a-time, the 10mb limit shouldn't be an issue.

The 10mb applies to albums too even though the songs download seperately, which sucks, Just tried to download a full U2 album, 8 songs and I got the 10MB warning and couldn't do it. I guess I could pick each song individually in the album and download it over 3G, but it would cost me at least a $1 more, and on albums with bonus material, you wouldn't get it. Data is data, they should just open it up.

I read somewhere that EDGE could also access the store. Not sure if they could/buy download though.

This is cool but I can't say I have ever been in a situation where this really mattered...

Glad to see this happen. It shouldve been available on 3G a while ago, but you had to see it coming once you were able to download podcasts over 3G...

I'm really loving this. It was definitely a good move on Apples part. Think about how many times we've wanted to buy a song and changed our minds before we got home.lol

LOL, you hit it right on the head. Its all about increasing the profit margin. Not their bandwidth, not their problem!

Cant say I download many songs via my phone, but this its pretty cool nonetheless.

I don't see why they would put a cap on it. If you already paid or are willing to pay for the data plan to support the download and are willing to wait, they should just drop the 10meg cap.
