I have had my disagreements with him but he has had a lot of people hit his thanks button so he must be helping out somewhere. He speaks his mind and doesn't hold punches. I agree that the initial release of yellowsn0w was bad for t-mobile users. How can anyone argue that the initial release was a success? I am happy that the new update seems to be giving everyone back an operable phone. Good day.

ive jailbroken my 3g with pwn
then some one said it had to be quickpwn so i rejailbroke it with that
then...
i downloaded yellowsnow .95...turn the phone off then on...messed with the airplane mode and
i still get the >>>........ at the top

You performed a double jailbreak? Did you do a complete restore before quickpwn?

yea i downloaded the restore from the guide then did the jailbreak with quickpwn

updated to .95...will test once i get a activated tmobile sim...signal for ATT still fluctuates on .95 until i set the permissions to 777 instead of 644.

There is a difference between speaking your mind and insulting members. Also, no matter how bad the inital release of yellowsn0w was for T-Mobile users, the Dev Team has done so much for the iPhone community, any bashing of them just wont be tolerated on this site...

it works now. Im using the newest simcard. (one that came with G1)

1) uninstalled previous version of yellowsn0w
2) rebooted the iPhone
3) installed new version of yellowsn0w
4) performed the reset on network.
5) reboot
6) airplane mode on, and waited 10 sec.
7) turned OFF the airplane mode.
8) BOOM!

when you say reboot u been turn it off then on or is there way to make it restart

Updated to .95 today on a 31.x tmobile usa sim. No problems. I can now make outgoing calls in addition to receiving, text, and data. Awesome! Thank you dev team!

See guys it only took 2 days for the dev team to resolve a lot of the key issues. So please be nice, they're spending their New Years doing this for us so we should be very thankful.

Hi all
iPhone 3g, 8gb, 2.2, 2.28.00
was on 2.2 with 2.11.xx
restored via iTunes
used quigkpwn
from then on did NOT follow any specifiek guide, just played around with different methods, lot's of restart, airplane on and off, wel anyway now still working with my original T-Mobile AND with my private Vodafone SIM.
It's a bit of a struggle when switching SIM but the way to make it work for me is open terminal and do "yellowsn0w -c" followed by "yellowsn0w -q", then quit terminal, airplane on, off, wait and BOOM.
Sometimes it says invalid SIM, just airplane on, off again untill it finds network.
btw, I did NOT need to do it because I have a legit T-Mobile iPhone from work with everything, just did it because it can be done, for fun.

For anyone that cares, I updated in cydia, rebooted via SBS, toggled airplane on and off and I was good to go.


I have a question though, any idea if we are always going to have to toggle Airplane Mode On/Off in order to get service? Or is this the next task for the Dev Team

Kickass man! Glad its working for you, I'm going to try 0.9.5 in a bit too, so all you did was update and not remove the prior version?

I'm sure that later they will fix the Airplane on and off issue too. I'm sure their taking down the bigger problems first.
