Its VERY hard to believe that yours works because you "read" when I tried the same things you did, and got nothing.

So something seems fishy is all.

When I first Installed it was droping calls every 30 second. When I get home I take my sim out and put it back, reset network setting and start working with my ATT sim. I go back to work try a T-Mobile sim from a coworker. In the beging I was getting invalid sim, no network name, 1 bar. I remenber that I have to turn off 3G, so I did it and reset network setting and when it come back on boom first full bar then E for Edge then T-Mobile carrier. Try to call my wife, talk to here about 4 min no problem, tell her to call me back, we talk like 4 more min no problem. Call here back like 4 more min with no problem. Couldn't try Edge cause coworker don't have the service but text msg work fine as well.

But can you make outgoing calls without a signal crash?...

Yes, I consider myself fortunate that my business phone is once again connected to my Exchange server.

Again, I don't know what I did different from others to make mine work and although I am skeptical, I am also hopeful.

FINALLY! Got it to work.

After reading comments on the dev-team blog. I installed MobileTerminal and did the following commands.

1. Get terminal
2. in terminal type yellowsn0w -r
3. in terminal type yellowsn0w -q
4. airplane mode on
5. airplane mode off

After this my bars popped up and showed my carrier. At first it dropped then I just re-airplane mode on and off and called from a diff phone to mines, worked! Called to a phone, worked! So far I'm at full 5bar and I can call/receive calls. Just tested text, receive/sending works.

Um i would have to disagree with that. Dev team has spank apple to many times now. Also unlike everyone else in here i feel one day somebody will find the solution to are 3g issue for tmobile.

Tmobile USA works fine. Been fine since 13:00 EST. Longest call to date outgoing for 1 hour 10 min local call. No issues to report. Itunes, Tzones, Mail everything working fine. This person saying must be lucky could be but on the dev blog I see many others have had no issues with tmobile usa...

tsk tsk some of you guys are just downright ungrateful.... lots of complaints but just how many helped with the work??


my phone is working all except outgoing calls incoming are stable text edge wifi emails i can even turn the phone on and off and get cocky... ive done it and messed it up twice.... i reinstalled and reinstalled..then it just started working. i made a cal it failed then it wen away immediately. redid it at home on my own wifi and it came right on like instantly... but im dumb so i rejailbroke and nothing for 15 minutes just of frustration and now its working just cant make calls but can receive... and honestly im lovin it..its better then nothing and alot better than bricked phone..

the beta was a succes in my eyes just has one problem from what i see... im typing this on my tmobile chicago 3g

I WOULD STRONGLY SAY THE NEXT TO COMPLAIN BE BANNED FOREVER I MEAN REALLY WHO DID NOT READ BETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you get T Mo up and running first and then do terminal, or did you go into terminal without any service?

I didn't have no service. I tried that, and then all a sudden I started getting bars/service t-mobile sign started coming up.

after hours playing around with different tips I finally made it work:

-restart from SBsettings
-*unlock screen appears* (with normal shut down and start this doesn't happen)
-wait for 1-2 minutes before unlocking screen
-enable airplane mode for 10 seconds
-disable airplane mode
-searching and then carrier appears

Note: if you restart normally you should start all over the steps above

I tried commands via terminal, yellowsn0w from installer instead of cydia, etc and nothing worked. The only thing I changed from the dev guide was to install SBsettings from cydia and use that to reboot.

Hopefully this helps those still experiencing problems..

I can confirm this works. I locked my phone again trying to figure out why I couldn't make outgoing calls on the software unlock and allowing it to sit on the lock screen for a few minutes brings "NO SERVICE". I didn't go in/out airplane mode. Once it was no service, I simply popped out/in my sim and was back in business again. I was using a similar method the first time I unlocked. I used bossprefs to reboot instead of doing it manually but it didn't bring me to the longscreen.

Turn off the 3G Network and Reset Network Setting it should work.

Anyone notice that so far, those that can "make calls in the US on TMO" all have under 5 posts? I haven't seen one that looks legit yet.
