Question... once i upgrade.. to 2.2 and have the correct baseband.. now i need to jailbreak.. since i only have access to windows can i use quickpwn to jailbreak the phone.. for some reason in all the instructions i see i should use pwnage tool... but i mean were updating the baseband so it shouldn't matter.. ???

Hello guys.

My baseband everything is the correct etc.

I have installed yellowsn0w reset phone (home + sleep) button. But it wont find my vodaphone simcard.

Any ideas?

Man I been seeing the words "NOT WORKING" throughout the entire DEV TEAM BLOG. Can anyone who lives in the UNITED STATES confirm that they have been able to unlock their iPhone to work on T-Mobile USA? I'm not upgrading my 2.11.07 until I know FOR SURE that this works cause obviously at this point there's no going back to 2.11.07 AFTER upgrading to 2.28.00

FIrst response... yes you need to remove your proxySIM (Gevey). That's the whole point of a software unlock is so you don't need that card anymore.

Second response... where do you see the need to use pwnage tool? The dev team site specifically says to use quickpwn which is windows and mac so no worries.

i got it with instaler but it doesnt work i still need to use turbo sim.iam on the latest 02.28.00

I noticed that there are a few different options that you can use to install yellowsn0w via the command line

Usage: yellowsn0w [options]

Options:
-s Single-shot mode
-c Just check for compatibility
-r Just reset the baseband
-q Use quicker method (only for some SIM cards)
-a Use alternate method (only for some SIM cards)

Not sure about -s -q or -a but it looks like

-c is pretty self explanatory.

-r Looks like it reverts your baseband back to being LOCKED and removes the hack

Be nice to know what the other 3 do.

Im in the US and tried using my t-mobile sim after installing yellowsn0w. It doesn't work.

Turn off your 3G toggle. You must have the SIM card in during boot up. Leave your SIM card in...Uninstall yellowsn0w... reboot... re-install yellowsn0w... reboot AGAIN.. and then wait up to 2 mins to gain service.

The Dev Blog is getting lots more success posts!

In the about mine still says carrier AT&T 2.9.... this means it didn't unlock?

That doesn't indicate being unlocked or not.. that won't change. But since you're on AT&T you won't know if you're unlocked unless you try a T-Mob SIM card... durrr.

Ok to the response i got..so i take out the gevey3g turbosim but leave the tmobile sim card in or take it out too. Thru out the whole process of the unlocking

NO that's normal. Mine is still locked and it says AT&T 2.9

Just put a different sim card in of a carrier OTHER THAN AT&T and see if it works
