Tried that all metode thanks but it still doesn`t work. Tring with Tele 2 and Telenor sim from Norway.

Oh I was running yellowsn0w from the command line and gave me an error telling me that I was using 2.11.07 baseband so apparently it doesn't do that when you install thru cydia

no you cannot downgrade your baseband

What I really don't understand is, on the video dev-team didn't have any problem with t-mobile usa... After couple hrs of trying all settings, the best what I've got was: full bars, edge, but when I tried to call somebody, no bars at all... Do we have different yellosn0w version?

I was following these steps:
1. Install yellowsn0w thru cydia, keep your T-Mobile Sim in the iphone
2. Reset Network Setting "Most important" 99% success rate will depend on this
3. Reboot your inphone
4. Wait a little over a min.
5. Remove your sim card and re-insert it back in
6. Wait 30 sec.
7. Turn on Airplane mode and wait 10 sec. "This is important as well"
8. Turn of Airplane mode, you should see "searching" start smiling T-Mobile carrier will start appearing.
9. Start make call!

I got to step 6, and the phone started working, so I didn't do steps 7, 8, and 9.

I tested incoming and outgoing calls and sms, everything working fine.

I'm on Telcel (Mexico) using an AT&T phone.

hey, I'm having a problem making outgoing calls after I unlock it. The key pad would just freeze up. I could still recieve incoming and everything else just not out going calls. Plz help.

i install yellowsn0w and i used quickpwn and after i used the steps i got my t-mobile carrrier pop pops but i still can't go inside and its says differetn sim detected and connect to itunes

I have had that error on my first gen, I think you need to change the Lockdown folder by SSH(winscp).

When you replace the files make sure the iPhone isn't connected to your computer as this causes problems, did for me anyway. I've done this on 2G and not 3G.

I see a lot of ppl are having trouble so i will repeat what i did step by step and hopefully it will work for you.

Before the update I was running 2.1 fw
So...

1. I updated my fw through itunes
2. Used Quickpwn to jailbreak
3. Reset Network Settings (Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network)
4. Downloaded yellowsn0w via wifi (after i added the source of course)
5. rebooted (my tmobile sim has been in the WHOLE time w/o turbosim)
6. ejected sim for 2 min
7. inserted sim and I had full bars
8. changed cellular data settings for tmobile internet

Now i will say that it did not happen for me the first time. So if its not working fo you dont get too discouraged, just keep trying!

we don't know what the deal is quite yet. We are waiting for word from DEV TEAM or even someone else who can tell us what's going on.

Someone posted that old SIM cards work as opposed to the new ones.

Im I the only one or is anybody else on AT&T repeatedly losing connection?
I did the yellowsn0w install from cydia and everything went fine. I unlocked it like 1hour and half ago and in that time ive lost connection about 50 times.

Im on AT&T too, man. connection always GOOD. full bar. pretty happy
try to reboot. install yellow again. turn 3G off. insert tmobile simcard, wait a little bit.
worked like a charm on my iphone.i did twice tho

So you arent losing signal, and arent bouncing from full to no signal at all?

ok is seems like a lot of us are having the same problem the carrier provider comes up with bars can recieve calls and texts and use the web but as soon as we try to make a call boom all bars drop. Any solutions so far to help the general crowd on this problem. I am glad im almost up to date with everyone else

I have had my iPhone 3G working with Orange UK and 3 UK the only thing I did different was not to wait when I took the sim card out and reinserted it after only about 10 secs, and then it worked for me where as it wouldnt before

Musclenerd said that older SIM cards seem to be working and are able to make calls.

Other than that there is nothing

As for the guy who said he got to step 6 and he got T Mo and bars and was able to make a call....smells fishy, I got it to and still wasn't able to make calls.

Finally worked for me.

Did everything as per instructions.

Had trouble with losing signal when making call but used the method of rebooting with 'boss pref' (lovely tool too)and airplane mode,how it worked finally was i seen it say 'no signal' instead of showing those no signal bars then i messed with airplane mode all of a sudden works.

Sorry i cant be very clear on every step.

text,in/out going calls 100%

even 3G !!

Hmm.. While trying to run Yellowsn0w from the Terminal. I keep getting the error "open: Resource busy"



Only the Reset option works for me.

I cant even run the -c



Any idea why?

I tried that also and got the same results, not sure if that means anything or not yet...

I've read everything and all i get is Dots. After i go from airplane Mode is says Searching for a split second and goes to Dots tried reinstalling yellowsn0w but that doesn't help, i got nothing

I'm starting all over to see if maybe something just messed up

I tried running it from MobileTerminal on the iPhone itself, instead of through putty, and I didnt get the error anymore.

Although, the Unlock didnt work.

Tried all 4 commands, just yellowsn0w, yellowsn0w -q and yellowsn0w -s and yellowsn0w -a.
Eventually just did a yellowsn0w -r and put my Vodafone SIM back in.

For now, yellowsn0w -fail..
