I was wondering the same thing. I have a TV Cable that hooks to my phone but it only allows me to view videos on my TV not the entire iPhone system. My Nokia N95 functions that way though, if I plug a TV-Out cable into it, I can the view my entire N95 screen on my tv, it's just like looking at my phone screen except everything is displayed on my TV.

I'm on T-Mobile USA, but I've been hearing that even if I have a unlocked 3G, I can't take advantage of T-Mobile's 3G...is this true? Different mhz?? If so, what's the point?
Believe me, I'm amazed at the accompishement, and I'll get one, but only if I get to take full advantage of that 3G speed on T-Mo's network...I'm in Chicago.
Do the factory unlocked 3G iphones have the same limitations (not compatable with Tmo's 3G)??

To those wondering: Even if you unlock the 3G you will NOT be able to use T-Mobile 3G IN THE USA. This is NOT an iPhone limitation but a T-Mobile USA Limitation. They have a unique MHz (1700MHz) that NO ONE else in the world uses. Because of this, two things happen:
1- Only phones meant to be used for T-Mobile USA get built with that frequency in mind.
2- Most phones not meant for T-Mobile USA (like the iPhone and MANY others) will simply not work on T-Mobile USA.
That said, you will get EDGE and A-GPS should still work, so the iPhone 3G is still a viable option. You just won't get 3G.

At least you can use a ATT pre-paid sim and you don't have to pay monthly fees.

I mean, I AM exciting, BUT
1) No 3G on Tmobile (Unless the Dev team can make it work)
2) Can't get your hands on a new iPhone w/o a contract
So as much I support the Dev team and believe it is a worthwhile endeavor, I can't help but feel like it's muted a little.

Good work Dev Team. You guys rock.
Not that I myself will need to unlock my 3G phone with your tool; I live in Denmark and by law you can only get locked in for 6 months; after the 6 months are gone, you simply request the provider, in my case Telia, to provide you with the unlock code and VIOLA! The phone is unlocked and can be used with all other sims.
But for the NA users this is good news. I will make sure that my friend in Canada knows about this. Maybe I should start a little side business and sell my unlocked phone, then get a new and have that for 6 months and sell it and so on.
But back to the topic, Dev Team you make a lot of people happy with all your hard work. Good job guys.
