I was talking to AT&T on the chat as I was thinking about buying a refurbished Iphone from their site:

Daniel: I have found a deal for the iphone at $99 refurbished but I cannot select that phone in the premier store

Salina: That phone may not be available through that site.

Daniel: well, i would like that phone

Salina: Are you a new or an existing customer with AT&T?

Salina: You can just order that refurbished iPhone outside of the Premier site and then call customer care to have them apply your discount after you purchase.

Salina: I do apologize, but this is how it would have to be purchased here online.

Salina: Would you like to go ahead and build your cart with that refurbished iPhone?

Daniel: i am doing so. i don't like how much the rate plans are

Salina: Let me know when you have that added to your cart.

Daniel: i have. $104.99 is $30 more a month than what I pay now to use the same phone

Salina: You currently have the iPhone?

Daniel: correct

Daniel: i would like the 3g and visual voicemail but it is not worth $30 a month extra

Salina: That $30 per month does give you unlimited Internet and email access.

Daniel: got it

Daniel: for $5.99

Salina: I do apologize, but our data plan is $30 per month.

Daniel: is there any way to get the monthly bill lower?

Daniel: without sacrificing messaging and minutes

Salina: You can always call our customer care department to see if they can further assist you with that.

Salina: Here online we do not have the power to override the system.

Salina: That is the price of our data plan for the iPhone. The iPhone has to have the data plan in order to work properly.

Daniel: then i will just wait until january 1st when the 3g is unlocked

Salina: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

That's completely untrue. Apple went from 2.0 > 2.0.1 > 2.0.2 > 2.1 in record time to try and fix the horrible 3G reception issues. These baseband changes had drastic effects on the device modem communication.

not denying that's true, but im at 2.0 baseband but 2.2 firmware and my reception issues have improved though the firmwares the same way any regular person that's updated has?

i didnt think the baseband really meant anything, you got any links?

man, well i'd like to say. i've made a full circle back to the iphone. -- i had the 2g iphone for the last year in a half. got tired of it. wanted to test the water for something newer. I bought a nokia luna. hated it. then bought me the new G1. android is quite interesting. but then i quickly was turned off by the G1 cause of it's battery life and lagginess of the UI. and now im back at it with a new 3G iphone. i can't wait for yellowsnow!!!!!!!!!!!

Dev Team Rocks...as i am from India its too expensive to buy an iphone 3g through carriers and was waiting for the unlock since a long time and now i m happy that i can be an owner of an iphone 3g..

Hi Dev Team,

I was wondering if you can help this 'green' person. I'm definately not tech savvy.
Firtly, what's the difference between 'Jailbreak' and 'Unlock'?

I was told to jailbreak my phone, I downloaded the necessary files but my phone isn't recognised in the latest (8.0) iTunes. I'm not sure if this is a recurring problem.

DEVE TEAM: i will say thank u to u after when i will unlock but i'm glad to say that u guys are very helpful and very genius if guys never make these unlock jailbreaks than nobody will buy the Steve Job shits which he make no forward option in sms and can't delete separate sms. its a sucks really
