Well this "new" iTunes will no longer sync to Outlook 2007. It worked fine before I updated and now I get this error when I try to sync OR when I click the "info" tab "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client can not fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client." WHAT???! Are there ANY people left in this world that still understand that there ARE people running windows that do NOT use Outlook as a mail client??? I only entered all of my contacts into outlook so that I could sync them to the iPhone and I have absolutely zero intentions of resetting my default Windows mail client twice everytime I sync my phone. I'm going to have a stroke before this day is over with.
**Confirmed. When I set Outlook as the default mail client the sync works fine, as long as Thunderbird is the default client it will not sync the contacts with outlook.

got this from engadget!! a workaround to the new itunes!!
First, follow the steps of the original method
* Create your ringtone, save it as an AAC file.
* Rename the m4a extension to m4r.
* Double-click to play in iTunes.
Now, if you're upgraded to 7.4.1
* Go back and re-rename that m4r file back to m4a. That's it.
* Plug in your iPhone and that ringtone will be added to your syncable ringtones list -- and it won't pop up the error from before.
* Play your ringtones constantly for the next 10 hours until 7.4.2 comes out.

No, it still should all work. Well, maybe it'd be better to say were there any SPECIFIC things you were wanting to do, and we can say if it works.
The "I Still Use Windows" is a user rank.

Thanks for the post, but this doesn't work on my Mac. I'm on a PPC (G4) iMac with the latest OS & iTunes 7.4.1. I've re-named & reloaded files, and I've also tried it with & without quitting the iTunes app & re-opening it again at each step. Nothing. I have the "Ringtone" tab when my iPhone is connected, but no "Ringtone" folder or column in the main iTunes window.
Anybody got a fix for this yet? Thanks.

Nothing I can do then
- I understand Im on a couple other boards....and here I just lurk.
Thanks for the info guys - this is a really great site.
Yeah I should have gave a list. but as of the moment I just have the phone skinned using the Online Skinner App, Install.ipb and I use ifuntastic.
I'd like to get around to the NES Roms, Installer.app and then the apps r/t using installer.app but I've read over the Wiki a couple times and just decided to wait until I had a little more time.Last edited by NVMY4N; 09-10-2007 at 05:08 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
